James JF Forest, Ph.D. is Director of Terrorism Studies and Associate Professor of Political Science at the U.S. Military Academy, where he teaches undergraduate courses in terrorism, counterterrorism, comparative politics, information warfare, and political development in Sub-Saharan Africa. He also directs a series of research initiatives for the Combating Terrorism Center at West Point, covering topics such as recruitment, training, and organizational knowledge transfer. He has been an invited speaker at numerous government seminars, national and international conferences, and other venues, and is the author of 9 books, including Teaching Terror: Strategic and Tactical Learning in the Terrorist World and Homeland Security: Protecting America’s Targets.
