5. Is it true that if I don't support particular counterterrorism policies that I'm not a patriotic American?
Disagreement about how best to protect the United States from terrorism is to be expected - this is a very complex problem. Debate about which policies should be implemented should be encouraged, for an open exchange of ideas competing for public support will help policymakers find the one that is best. What all patriotic Americans can agree on is that the United States must be safe and secure. It is only when someone actively works to make the United States less safe or less successful that they have the potential to cross the line of acceptable behavior.
