Osama bin Laden

Founder and leader of Al Qaeda, who developed his Islamist ideology while fighting the Soviets in Afghanistan in the 1980’s. Bin Laden and his organization have been responsible for a number of attacks against American interests, including 9/11, the attack upon the USS Cole, the bombings of two US Embassies in Africa, and the first attack upon the World Trade Center.
