Mom's March to Celebrate Role of America's Mothers

by DR. SUSAN BERRY, MOM'S MARCH USA August 30, 2017

Mothers of America will be celebrating their primary role of promoting virtue, decency, and civility in their homes and the nation during the Mom's March for America in September.

The march is apolitical, says Kimberly Fletcher, executive director and event organizer of Mom's March for America. Appearing as a guest on Breitbart News Sunday, Fletcher explained:

It's not about parties, politics, or a president. It's about principles, and the principles we care about as mothers. We agree a whole lot more than we don't. We want our children to be safe, we want them to get a good education, and we want them to be happy, which, in mother language, equates to decent people who can provide for themselves.

Mothers will be gathering on Saturday, September 23 in Omaha, Nebraska, at the Ralston Arena, in the heartland of the nation. The event will be broadcast live, with similar gatherings taking place all over the country. Guest speakers will include Sarah Palin, Candy Carson (wife of Dr. Ben Carson), and Missy Roberts of Duck Dynasty.

Fletcher, the wife of a retired Air Force officer and mother of eight children, describes the event as a "cultural march," rather than a walk down a street with people carrying signs and shouting chants.

"The mission is to celebrate the status of mothers - their influence," she said, continuing:

We have powerful influence in our homes, communities, and nation. This idea that motherhood is secondary - regardless of whether or not you're working outside the home, you're a stay-at-home-mom ... It's not about whether or not you work outside the home, it's about whether or not you're putting motherhood first in your life and whether or not you're respected as a mother.

In an overview of the Mom's March, Fletcher, the president and founder of Homemakers for America writes, "Like many of the mothers in America, I have become very concerned with the decline in our culture and the anger, hate and violence flooding our nation."

Through the Mom's March, she asserts women will "stand together for truth, family, freedom, and the Constitution that protects our divine rights as mothers."

"Mothers set the bar, women set the bar in our nation on decency, humanity, civility, and it's time to raise the bar, and we're coming together to do it," Fletcher states.

Fletcher and the Mom's March invite mothers to sign the Declaration of Mothers.

In a Mom's March media release, Fletcher observes a statement from Melinda Gates and the foundation she presides over with her husband, Bill Gates.

"The real issue isn't how much time women spend on unpaid work-it's how much time they don't spend contributing to society and pursuing higher education or a career," Gates said, adding that, given the chance, women would "spend more time doing paid work, starting businesses, or otherwise contributing to the economic well-being of societies around the world."
