Note To Mainstream Media on Catholicism: Shut Up!

As a proud Catholic, I feel the need to ask the mainstream media for a big favor. Please stop discussing my Faith as if it were the New York Jets quarterback debate. By now, anyone with an ounce of brains knows your relentless, blatant, and arrogant bias against the traditional teachings of the Catholic Church. We do not need Diane Sawyer on ABC or any other know-it-all pontificating about who the next pontiff should be, why the resigning one was a beast, or why the Catholic Church "must" do this or "better" do that.

Research reports consistently demonstrate that you spend a third of your time ignoring my Church, another third mocking it, and the final third demanding what it should do. Enough already. Who do you think you are telling Catholics or their Church which has been around for centuries what needs to be done? Your arrogance and ignorance knows no bounds and yet manages to coalesce into a most offensive form. Believe it or not, neither the Catholic Church nor any Catholic worth a dime needs your twisted, obnoxious observations and opinions about church pews much less the direction and leadership of our Church.

Never ones to retreat from having the last word, you members of the mainstream media might respond that many Catholics agree with your comments and arguments to which I say, please sell that rubbish elsewhere.  To begin with, these so-called "Catholics" and "Catholic groups" you refer to are nothing more than store front radical, liberal, socialist, feminist and who knows what else organizations that have tried to hijack the mantle of Catholic representation and pose as speakers for all or the majority of Catholics. You throw around statistics and polls that 98% of Catholics do this and 90% of Catholic women do that, but these and similar statistics have been repeatedly shown to be flawed, inaccurate, or biased. If I poll 1,000 people half of whom eat junk food but say that they eat healthy meals and then cite my results as representative of what healthy nutrition conscious people think, my statistics are not worth the paper they are printed on. There is ample proof that many of your so-called supporting "Catholic" sources have ties to every radical, liberal, feminist, and socialist cause known and are about as Catholic as Osama bin Ladin is alive.

Please do not tell us that our Faith is intolerant, hateful, backwards, or violent while ignoring how other so-called peaceful faiths burn hundreds of Christians to death as shown by actual photographs of the charred bodies.  Please do not fawn over the modesty of other faiths while wailing on about the extreme strictness and repression of our Faith. Please do not speak of our priest scandals while ignoring the fact that public school teachers have as many, if not more, abuse claims. Please stop interviewing dissident priests, nuns, theologians, celebrities or family pets who call themselves Catholic yet magically agree with your secular or liberal views. Please do not spew this double standard and selective focus and expect that nobody will have the mental capacity to see your hypocrisy and bias.

The way I see it, much of your audience already agrees with you and another sizeable portion can see through your pathetic bias and agenda, so you must be directing your efforts toward those who are undecided on whether the Catholic Church is the worst thing to ever hit mankind. The way I see it, I do not want those undecided people who need your profound insights to decide.  Quality over quantity, I always say.

I am sure you will spend the next weeks and months dissecting my Church's every move as a new Pope is selected. I am sure there is much about my Church you do not like and feel nauseous about. Please stop convincing yourself that you are adding a drop of insight or intelligence to these topics.  We do not need a mainstream media whose credibility and impartiality is already a joke weighing in on anything related to our Church. If the Catholic faith, its leadership, or its believers bother you in some way, go jog it off.  If you are disgusted with our traditional beliefs, doctrines, teachings, or positions, go speak to an atheist convention. Trust me, your inane drivel is not contributing anything new to a discussion that you arrogantly decided you have standing in.

Take my word for it, any decent Catholic does not care an ounce what you or your lackies think or believe about our faith, so save your biased breath and go cover Beyonce or Kim Kardashian, which is about your intellectual pay rate and interested audience to begin with.
