Useful Idiots: March 7, 2017

by USEFUL IDIOTS March 7, 2017

Useful idiots is a term purportedly coined by the 20th-century monster Vladimir Lenin.  It describes those in the Free World who do not hesitate to justify or rationalize the barbarism intrinsic to tyrannical ideologies, thereby allowing themselves to be used as propaganda tools by the most evil men in the world.  Congratulations, idiots!  Due to a postmodern culture rooted in moral relativism and an education system that champions subjective ethics, these intellectually-confused First World mutants still exist in large numbers today.  This column aims to highlight and repudiate their vapid folly.

  • Despite all of the coverage devoted to President Trump’s verbal spats with the media, the substantive threat to free speech in the West continues to be Radical Islam and those on the Left that wish to appease it (see: Charlie Hebdo and Jyllands-Posten).  This past week, the powers-that-be in the European Union actually took concrete steps to restrict the free speech of European politicians that they consider to be anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim.

In an effort to inoculate Western civilization from “offensive” words, ideas, and images — for fear of violent jihadist reprisal — the faceless bureaucrats that run the Old Continent have given themselves the power to halt live broadcasts of speeches “in the case of defamatory, racist, or xenophobic language or behavior by a member.”  Such an action — which was not made public by the EU but had to be reported by the Spanish press — is surely an attempt to silence Geert Wilders, the nationalist Dutch candidate for prime minister, and Marine Le Pen, the nationalist presidential candidate in France, both of whom reject Radical Islam and oppose greater migration from the Middle East.  In short, they’re both European mini-Trumps and the EU is proactively restricting their ability to speak on issues.

In fact, Marine Le Pen is now facing a hefty fine of $79,000, and even, potentially, three years in prison under French law.  Why, you may ask?  For tweeting anti-ISIS material.  This is the equivalent of a sitting U.S. president using the law to silence, fine, and threaten to imprison a political opponent because of that opponent’s views.  That is what is happening in France at this very moment and it has essentially gone unreported by the American and European press.  Truly fascinating.

Regardless of what one may think of Marine Le Pen as a politician, surely a presidential candidate of a country held in such high-regard as France should not be prosecuted under the law for tweeting pictures of ISIS violence… particularly when French-Muslims loyal to ISIS, who, yes, exist in great numbers, are free to tweet whatever they want in support of ISIS!  Le Pen posted an image of James Foley’s gruesome beheading in order to expose the evils of jihad.  And this is what the EU considers “defamatory” and “racist” these days?  Against whom, exactly… ISIS?

It is this kind of abject moral failure and civilizational surrender that is pushing rational and ethically-sound Europeans, regardless of their politics, into wanting to leave the EU in the first place.  Europeans should be utterly embarrassed.  And Americans who have their heads on straight should let them know it.

  • In other news, the FBI is apparently still confused about what Dahir Adan’s motive could have possibly been when he walked into a Minnesota mall, asked people if they were Muslim, and then stabbed them if they said they weren’t (all the while shouting “Allahu Akhbar”).  Adan was a Somali migrant, after all.  Maybe he was upset at Americans for offering him freedom and opportunity as an alternative to tribal theocracy?

  • Maybe he was upset because there aren’t enough Muslims on TV?  This is just a working theory espoused by actor and world-renowned deep-thinker Riz Ahmed.  How low of an opinion for the average Muslim individual does one need to hold to assume “they” may be inspired to commit mass violence over something so banal?  Talk about the soft bigotry of low expectations.

  • This is great.  The next anti-Trump women’s rally (yes, there’s another one scheduled for next week) is being organized by a convicted terrorist; a Palestinian woman named Ramsea Yousef Odeh.  Odeh served 10 years in Israeli jail for the 1969 bombing of the British consulate and for killing two Hebrew University students in a Jerusalem supermarket.  She was released in 1979 in a prisoner exchange and migrated to the U.S. in the 1990s.  She eventually became a citizen by lying about her past during the vetting process (surprise!).

Apparently U.S. immigration officials were not savvy enough to research her name or to simply ask our allies in Israel something about her history.  Could you imagine the headlines if an equivalent pro-Trump rally were organized by actual neo-Nazis or right-wing terrorists?  But it’s not like any of this should surprise us.  The original women’s march during inauguration weekend was also organized by a train wreck, a pro-sharia Islamist named Linda Sarsour.  In other words, a “feminist” that supports female genital mutilation.  I did not see Madonna show cause for concern over the matter, or at least a modicum of appreciation for the irony, so I just assumed there was nothing to laugh at.  But I was wrong.  It’s all a joke.

  • Rounding out this week, Pope Francis, a man who lives behind walls, wants the rest of Europe to tear down its walls.  I will leave it to the fair-mindedness of the reader to determine the validity of such a sentiment.
