Senior Intelligence Officials: Attempted Terror Attack "Certain"

The five senior leaders of the U.S. intelligence community told a Senate panel they are "certain" that terrorists will attempt another attack on the United States in the next three to six months.
If true, why do you think the jihadists feel emboldened?

Exclusive: In the News: Stop Ahmadinejad Rally and ‘Jihad Prevention Act’

The recent news that Sharia law verdicts are binding in British civil court cases has prompted Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-Colorado) to introduce legislation to prevent the same thing from happening here in the U.S.

Favored by Islamists worldwide, Sharia law often calls for brutal punishment for things such as adultery, having children out of wedlock, petty theft and alcohol consumption. Under Sharia law, a woman's testimony is worth half that of a man's, and in cases of rape, women must provide multiple male witnesses. Sharia law also calls for the execution of homosexuals and apostates (Muslims who leave the faith).

According to Tancredo, "This is a case where truth is truly stranger than fiction. Today the British people are learning a hard lesson about the consequences of massive, unrestricted immigration."

His bill, titled the "Jihad Prevention Act," would prevent the entry into the U.S. of foreign nationals who advocate Sharia law, and would make advocacy of Sharia law by radical Muslims already here a deportable offense.

"When you have an immigration policy that allows for the importation of millions of radical Muslims, you are also importing their radical ideology - an ideology that is fundamentally hostile to the foundations of western democracy - such as gender equality, pluralism, and individual liberty," said Tancredo. "The best way to safeguard America against the importation of the destructive effects of this poisonous ideology is to prevent its purveyors from coming here in the first place."

Muslims Against Sharia have praised Tancredo's initiative. According Khalim Massoud, quoted in FrontPage Magazine: "Anyone who proclaims Islamic extremist views should be tried for sedition, since we are at war with radical Islam, or at the very least, promptly deported."

The announcement of Tancredo's legislation comes just as a major protest is being planned for September 25th at 6 PM in New York City, to counter a meeting of Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad with UN officials and religious leaders.

Called the Stop Ahmadinejad Rally and coordinated by Women United, the protest will take place across the street from the Grand Hyatt Hotel on East 42nd Street, near Lexington Avenue and Grand Central Terminal. Over 30 organizations, including prominent Jewish and Christian leaders and political leaders, will participate. Many of the organizations are frustrated by the fact Gov. Sarah Palin and other elected officials were "disinvited" from the rally against Ahmadinejad at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza yesterday - and it's been reported that the disinvitation was issued after the Democrats threatened to attack the non-profit status of the groups sponsoring the rally.

"We are calling upon the participation of all human rights activists and religious organizations and leaders of all backgrounds, faiths, and political affiliation who find the threats to innocent peoples to be nothing less than an affront to morality and Western civilization," said rally organizer Beth Gilinsky of Women United, an international human rights organization.
