Exclusive: Obama, The Media and ACORN: Affirmative Action on Steroids
It was such a fine, noble and powerful idea. Expose people of all backgrounds and races to new horizons, new opportunities and new dreams to aspire to. Is that not what the American Dream is truly about anyway? If that is true, then what has become of this dream in the hands of liberals like Barack Obama and his two arms of influence, the mainstream media and the ACORN?
The Original Idea
It is said that the term “The American Dream” was first used by James Truslow Adams in his book The Epic of America which was written in 1931. In that book, Adams states "The American Dream is that dream of a land in which life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement.” Some may say, with good reason, that the foundation of The American Dream is found in our Declaration of Independence, wherein our founding fathers “held certain truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness."
Anyone with even a passing interest in what has made America the greatest nation on earth, with all due apologies to liberals who will never believe this to be the case, is the notion that this nation was built and developed on the principle of providing equality of opportunity not the guarantee of results. One need only look at the courageous adventurism of the pioneers, the insatiable thirst for freedom of the colonists and the entire history of this nation to see the tale of masses seeking happiness and fulfillment with the implied understanding that personal responsibility, justice and fairness would be in attendance during the search. Simply put, the notion that one would seek to actualize the promise of America while paying lip service to what America is all about seems the height of audacity, hypocrisy and arrogance.
Then we are told that affirmative action means positive steps taken to increase the representation of women and minorities in areas of employment, education, and business from which they have been historically excluded. I beg to differ with this definition of affirmative action, in the interest of the inclusiveness which liberals so often invoke like some ointment peddled by a traveling salesman.
My definition of affirmative action is “making constant and sincere efforts to expose any group to areas from which they have been traditional excluded.” In this vein, exposing high school boys to a nursing career, young girls to a career in engineering, a disabled Latino teen to high finance and a young white girl to jazz are all forms of affirmative action. By definition, this view of affirmative action breathes life into a democracy, and turns its most lofty ideals into practical applications.
The Corruption
Winston Churchill is quoted as having said that “some men change their party for the sake of their principles; others their principles for the sake of their party,” which is a concise summary of why affirmative action has been distorted from what it should be about to what it is presently about.
While both conservatives and liberals have been guilty of twisting affirmative action somewhat, it is the liberals who have most blatantly deformed this noble concept into nothing more than a tired tool of manipulation, corruption and harm. In their eager desire to institutionalize victimization and then hire themselves as its eternal foe, liberals have reached the point where affirmative action is nothing more than hypocrisy mixed with cynical patronization and sold to the most gullible, defenseless and ignorant among us as sweet social medicine.
Suddenly, social justice demands that the victims of the past victimize others, and that those most wounded by injustice and corruption before now inflict the most wounds using those very same poisons today. When one distorts one’s aim from a noble ideal to just another greedy end and then allows that end to justify any means, one has found ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now. Billed as the nation’s largest grassroots organization working for the empowerment of low and moderate income people through housing, jobs, wages and other issues, ACORN is currently embroiled in a large number of voter fraud allegations in many states. Despite denials from its ranks and website, there is clear evidence that ACORN’s so-called grassroots voter campaign has been no more than a liberal vote fraud machine using the poor and needy to perpetuate wide scale voter fraud. Testimony and reports of people being paid with cigarettes and money to register over 70 times and of registration of deceased and non-existent people are widespread. Similar accounts and verification of false addresses which turn out to be store fronts or vacant land have been alleged and proven.

So great must this evidence be, that not even the liberal-favoring censorship of the mainstream press has been able to conceal it. What evolves is clear: ACORN has been engaging in intentional, blatant and widespread voter fraud. That its website can even dare to deny these facts is testimony to either profound denial or just as pervasive stupidity and arrogance.
Not only is the evidence in and continuing that ACORN has used taxpayer funding to commit voter fraud, but there is ample evidence, mostly ignored by Obama’s fiancé press, that Obama himself has had his hands very deep in this soup for a long time.
ACORN is merely the latest example of a liberal affirmative action mentality that is nothing more than a distortion and utter embarrassment of the original, noble ideal of what affirmative action should be. Its stated purpose is to empower minorities at any cost, using any means available and with complete disregard for the law, morality or common decency, order or respect for democracy and this country.
Affirmative Action Gets Juiced
Much has been written and reported in the press about the use of performance enhancing drugs in sports. We have heard ad nauseam how such practices are harmful to the athlete, the particular sport and society in general. By now most of the public agrees that “getting juiced” as the practice is commonly called, is cheating and destructive to the welfare of our society, our people and our future.
If using external sources to enhance performance of athletic ability is wrong, then how is using external influences to spread and twist affirmative action in ways no longer constructive for a free society any better? First the liberals distorted the social face of affirmative action from spreading equality of opportunity to imposing a guarantee of results. Now, through organizations such as ACORN, liberals spread this distorted version, their version, of affirmative action into the economic arena by forcing banks and lending institutions, under political threats, to make unwise loans leading to the present mess in our economy. This connection between ACORN and unwise loan practices has been proven and documented in many places.
Not content to spread their distorted version of affirmative action from the social to the economic arenas, liberals have now spread this concoction into the political arena as well, with the help of their pet media. Say anything negative about their darling Obama and you will have liberals and the media rain down on you with accusations of racism and intolerance. This absurdity is the total contradiction of all time, since it is precisely the racist who hides behind race to justify his or her behavior. The last time I checked, crooks and con men come in all colors, and calling a liar a liar has nothing to do with his or her race.

We began with preferential treatment for minorities in the social arena. Not providing equality of opportunity, mind you, which would have been healthy affirmative action, but guaranteeing results, which is the liberal distortion of affirmative action in a nutshell. Then we saw how this mutant liberal affirmative action was spread to the economic arena with groups like ACORN forcing preferential treatment to people not ready or able to take on loans simply because of the group they belonged to, resulting in the mess we find ourselves today. Finally, we now see political affirmative action with the help of the liberal media enablers who twist and hide facts with passion in the service of protecting their divine Barack Obama and any other preferred liberal politician, celebrity or public figure.
What began with a noble idea twisted and mutated by the liberal social, economic and liberal agenda has been spread from the social, to the economic and the political arena. True racism is evil and wrong, as is any form of prejudice and bias against people, but liberals have twisted this truth, as they so often do with all truth, to suit their agenda. Now, racism is the new accusation aimed at any who dare to criticize or expose wrong committed by people of a given race. Accuse a white, conservative politician of corruption, associating with domestic terrorists or radical clerics spewing hatred and you are making an observation. Accuse a conservative, minority politician of the same and you are putting an ungrateful minority in his or her place. Do the same concerning a liberal, white politician and you are ignored. Dare to do this concerning a minority liberal politician and you are racist.
Sarah Palin is racist for talking about small towns. John McCain is racist for saying “that one” during a debate. James Carville and Paul Begala are not racists for assuming that African-Americans know no better than to riot if Obama loses the election. Barack Obama does not have a racist bone in his body no matter what he may say. I am racist for writing this. The double standard is so blatant and absurd that it pushes the envelope of sanity.
Conclusion
The original idea behind The American Dream was, and still is, a good one. This notion reminds us of our inalienable right to seek our own happiness under the protection of liberty and life itself. Come to think about it, the original idea behind affirmative action was a good one as well. That idea reminded us that inherent in a free society is equality of opportunity, with the eventuality of results being in our hands. Affirmative action was supposed to support The American Dream. That was until liberals got a hold of it.
Now, affirmative action is yet another weapon liberals use to hijack The American Dream and turn it into the American nightmare, complete with rationalized, institutionalized and legalized injustice and payback which have no place in the America our founders dreamed of. This kind of affirmative action is a distortion, yet another ad hoc cocktail devised by liberals to justify their twisted vision of what America should be.
Not content to merely infect and distort a once powerful idea to suit their purposes, liberals have now extended it to suit their social, economic and political agenda. Call them on it and you are a hateful, intolerant, narrow-minded and evil racist. Agree with them on it and you are an enlightened, educated, perceptive visionary who will carry America far. They hijack the concept; they can make their own rules. Well, at least we have the ever-liberal mainstream media ready, willing and able to serve the liberal establishment’s every need.
Obama is the messiah and the media is the noble messenger of truth. Say it enough times and you might actually believe it. At least ACORN has the right name. When I looked up that term the first words I saw were “a nut.”
Affirmative action has been hijacked by liberals, who have poured victimization, patronization and their own brand of self-appointed righteousness all over it.
