Disappointed to see Gen. Powell endorse Sen. Obama. This confirms a few things about Powell that we already knew, and tells us a couple things we did not. First, Republican suspicions about his domestic policies have been correct. Not that he kept them hidden. But his 1996 flirtation with a run against Bill Clinton made some of us willing to pretend they were not there.

 

It is likely that his decision was driven in part by the opportunity to rehabilitate himself in the history books and among left-leaning opinionmakers (who are the most influential in the media and popular culture, after all). No doubt he is still looking for a way to move his resume and image beyond his pitching for the war to liberate Iraq.

 

That’s what we already knew. What we didn’t know is that his estimation of character, from the perspective of a 71-year-old man and a former military leader at the highest level, could be so spectacularly wrong. Gen. Powell put his life on the line in combat, along with the lives of many men. Yet today he offers the shade of his considerable reputation to a man whose “spiritual advisor” of two decades, Rev. [sic] Jeremiah Wright, despises this nation; and to a man who was pleased to work side-by-side with self-admitted domestic bomber, William Ayers, who attempted to kill Gen. Powell’s own colleagues at the Pentagon (among other places). Read article.

As Barack Obama reaped a stunning $150 million in campaign donations in September, bringing his total to more than $600 million, new questions have arisen about the source of his amazing funding.

 

By Obama’s own admission, more than half of his contributions have come from small donors giving $200 or less. But unlike John McCain’s campaign, Obama won’t release the names of these donors.

 

A Newsmax canvass of disclosed Obama campaign donors shows worrisome anomalies, including outright violations of federal election laws.

 

For example, Obama has numerous donors who have contributed well over the $4,600 federal election limit.

 

Many of these donors have never been contacted by the Obama campaign to refund the excess amounts to them.

 

And more than 37,000 Obama donations appear to be conversions of foreign currency.

 

According to a Newsmax analysis of the Obama campaign data before the latest figures were released, potential foreign currency donations could range anywhere from $12.8 million to a stunning $63 million in all. * Al Qaeda. Pandering to his extreme base, Obama has projected an image of being soft on terror. Toss in his promise to abandon Iraq, and you can be sure that al Qaeda will pull out all the stops to kill as many Americans as possible - in Iraq, Afghanistan and, if they can, here at home - hoping that America will throw away the victories our troops bought with their blood.

 

* Pakistan. As this nuclear-armed country of 170 million anti-American Muslims grows more fragile by the day, the save-the-Taliban elements in the Pakistani intelligence services and body politic will avoid taking serious action against "their" terrorists (while theatrically annoying Taliban elements they can't control). The Pakistanis think Obama would lose Afghanistan - and they believe they can reap the subsequent whirlwind. Read article.

Given large Democratic congressional majorities, President Barack Obama would swerve to the radical left and adopt a temperament similar to his fiery and controversial pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Newt Gingrich predicted Sunday.

 

“If Obama went in and had a moderate House and a moderate Senate, he would probably be a very moderate president,” Gingrich said on ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos.”

 

“And his temperament would lead him to much more like [Chicago Mayor] Richie Daley than like Rev. Wright. He’s not going to have that,” said Gingrich, the former speaker of the House and titular leader of the 1994 Republican Revolution.

 

Most polls show Obama, the Democratic presidential nominee, with a wide lead over his Republican rival, John McCain.

 

And Gingrich predicted that Obama would work with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California, both Democrats angling to boost their majorities on Election Day, to take away the secret ballot for union elections and “to eliminate freedom of speech for Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. He’s going to have a Congress that wants to raise taxes, a Congress that wants to increase government. And he’s going to have to decide: Is he really going to veto and fight with Pelosi and Reid?” Read article.

The American Founders recognized this, as did the English statesmen who presided at the Revolution of 1688: They rejected utopianism.” Ha! More fool them. Senator Obama promises to “remake this great nation,” which frankly sounds a little cheeseparing and parochial next to his wife’s pledge that an Obama administration will start building “the world as it should be.” It’s not precisely clear what that will involve, but it seems likely to be expensive.

 

As to his qualifications for remaking the world, my favorite moment of the campaign was when he got briefly touchy about having his minimal “qualifications” for the presidency compared with Sarah Palin’s. The senator huffily pointed out that he has too got executive experience. Unlike the governor, he’s never run a state or a town or a business, but, as he put it, for two years he’s been running a successful presidential campaign.

 

In effect, Barack was acknowledging that his principal talent is for self-promotion. It requires some chutzpah to offer your skill at being Barack Obama as your main qualification for the job. The man who modified the title of Sammy Davis Jr.’s autobiography for his campaign motto — “Yes, we can!” — might have done better to cut straight to one of Sammy’s signature songs: “I’ve Gotta Be Me.” L’état, c’est moi. When Sen. Hillary Clinton attended the Nevada Caucus on Jan. 19, 2008, she experienced, from the Obama Campaign, what McCain is experiencing from the Obama-Biden Campaign today. Clinton's lawyer, Lyn Utrecht, wrote a protest letter to the Nevada Democratic Party about the conduct of the Obama staffers/supporters, many of whom had credentials from the Democratic Party and were part of the security at the caucus sites.

 

The Clinton Campaign received virtually hundreds of calls on January 19th that the "...Obama Campaign and its allies and supporters engaged in a planned effort to subvert the Caucus procedures to its advantage. For example: preference cards were premarked in Obama's name. Clinton supporters were denied cards, being told there were none left while Obama supporters were being given them when they were denied to Clinton supporters. Caucus 'chairs' favored Obama and deliberately miscounted votes as Obama votes, and also counted unregistered people as Obama votes."

 

Hillbuzz.org, a website operated by Hillary Clinton supporters, is once again reporting that a RICO investigation of the Association of Community . The Obama Campaign is tied to ACORN and "Project Vote" not only because of a $800 thousand "donation" from the Obama Campaign to "register voters," but because he paid for votes in the key swing States he needed to win to become President. Those states? Ohio, North Carolina, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

 

Add to that Obama's very close, personal ties not only to Weather Underground 1960s terrorist Bill Ayers, but also with ACORN co-founder Wade Rathke, who was a 60s antiwar activist with the militant Students for a Democratic Society. The association is close enough to merit a much closer scrutiny by the media and the federal and state investigators. Read article.

The lowest-ranking enlisted persons in the Armed Forces of the United States who are expected to handle sensitive matters in the scores of jobs involving classified equipment or written material must be investigated before obtaining their security clearance. Could Barack Obama gain such a clearance?

 

To begin, the clearance applicant would have to complete a detailed personal history form that includes, if necessary, government access to all health and education files. This is the starting point of all security investigations.

 

Considering Barack Obama as a candidate for a top secret security clearance status with a full array of compartmented clearances, one has to be cognizant of the fact that there is considerable evidence of associations and even assistance from individuals with past criminal records or who have expressed anti-American beliefs. Obviously admitted domestic terrorists William Ayers and his wife Bernadine Dohrn, as well as recently convicted felon, Antoin "Tony" Rezko, fall into this category.

 

There is no possibility that a Top Secret clearance would be awarded to a member of the Armed Forces whose background included such associations. An intelligence service clearance for the handling of highly classified material would be totally out of the question. Read article.

Both William Ayers and his brother, John Ayers, ran organizations that received grants from the Chicago Annenberg Challenge run by Barack Obama, and both also contributed to at least one of Obama’s political campaigns.

 

William Ayers is a one-time leader of the Weather Underground domestic terrorist group that in the 1970s took credit for bombing the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol. “I don’t regret setting bombs,” Ayers told the New York Times in 2001 about his experience with the Weathermen. “I feel we didn’t do enough.”

 

In 1995, Obama, then a Chicago lawyer, received an early boost in his initial bid for the Illinois State Senate, when he went to a political meeting at Ayers’ home.

 

From 1995 through 2001, Obama was chairman of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC), a foundation that gave away $49.2 million to promote improvement in Chicago’s public school. At the same time, Ayers served as chairman of the Chicago Schools Collaborative, an arm of the CAC that set its education policy.

 

From 1992 through 2002, Ayers was also the co-director of a group called the Small Schools Workshop, which promoted public schools that advanced themes such as peace studies, multiculturalism and environmentalism. Read article.

Michelle Obama in 1997 organized a university event in which she invited her husband, Sen. Barack Obama, and former Weathermen radical Bill Ayers to serve on a panel discussion about whether child murderers should be tried as adults.

 

Both Barack Obama and Ayers served on the side that opposed treating offending minors as adults.

 

Michelle Obama at the time was the University of Chicago's associate dean of Student Services and director of the college's Community Service Center, which sponsored the juvenile detention discussion Nov. 20, 1997.

 

Panel leaders invited by Michelle Obama included her husband, who taught law at the university; Ayers, who was a university education professor; and four other speakers who had experience with Chicago's juvenile detention system. Read article.

Prior to Barack Hussein Obama’s ascension to the lofty position as head of the democrat party and presumed nominee for president, the issue of his true religious faith and loyalty has been in question. Personally, I could care less as to what Barack Hussein Obama is, was or is not. Last week, well before news broke today of an FBI voter-fraud investigation of the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now (Acorn), Nevada authorities raided the group’s Las Vegas headquarters. The offices of Nevada’s secretary of state and attorney general, both Democrats, seized computers, voter-registration cards, and employee information after Acorn submitted numerous fraudulent names and addresses as part of its voter-registration drive.

 

“Some of these [forms] were facially fraudulent; we basically had the starting lineup for the Dallas Cowboys,” Ross Miller, Nevada’s secretary of state, explained. “Tony Romo is not registered to vote in Nevada.” Acorn’s Project Vote alleges that the raid is part of a nationally orchestrated effort to suppress voter turnout. “Project Vote has been attacked all over the country because we registered at least 1.2 million voters,” theorizes Nevada Acorn’s Bonnie Smith-Greathouse. “That could sway an election.”

He said he thought it was a right. Well, if you accept that premise, I think you can ask some logical follow-up questions: Food is more important than health care. You die pretty quickly without food. Do we have a “right” to food in America? What about shelter? Do we have a “right” to housing? And if we do have a right to housing, what standard of housing do we have a right to? And if it is a right, due to all Americans, wouldn’t that mean that no one should have to accept any housing, or health care, which is inferior to anyone else’s… since it’s a right?

 

Do we have a right to be safe? Do we have a right to be comfortable? Do we have a right to wide-screen televisions? Where does this end? Read article.

Trust the OTHER guy. Why? Trust the man who’s NEVER reached across the aisle or opposed his own party when necessary. Trust the candidate who WON”T release his actual birth certificate, even going as far as being taken to court by someone of his OWN party to obtain this documentation. Trust the guy who WON”T release any information about his past, who seals his own school records and Harvard Law Thesis’
