Exclusive: You Can Measure a Nation’s Greatness by What It Chooses to Believe
Gabriel Garnica, Esq.
By now everyone knows of the latest scandal to bubble out of Illinois politics, involving Gov. Blagojevich and the attempt to sell a senate seat to the highest bidder. After watching the mainstream media all but win an Olympic gold medal in gymnastics for its ability to twist reality and dive over facts in its relentless pursuit of getting Obama elected, one had to wonder just how much compost the average American would be willing to accept coming from the Obama camp. Given what is transpiring at a surprisingly early rate, we may soon find out.
What This Nation Chose To Believe
While BHO clearly did not fool all of the people all of the time, it seems he did fool enough of the people to be elected POTUS, and so we may conclude that the media’s despicable swan dive in his favor proved successful. In order to achieve this feat, alleged journalists did everything in their power to portray an Obama sneeze as a wind of change, an Obama stumble as a new dance craze, and an Obama misstatement was a non-existent entity.
No matter what BHO said or did, there was always a ready answer to brush away any semblance of irregularity or impurity from his statements. The country was often faced with choosing to believe BHO or people like Joe The Plumber, Sarah Palin, or the stream of observers and writers who outlined BHO’s many questionable associations and troubling past. Apparently, given the results of the recent election, most voters chose to believe BHO.
The Left savaged Sarah Palin at will, calling her everything short of a prostitute or an imbecile and, apparently, enough people chose to believe that Palin was a radical fool, barely able to recite anything intelligent and melting beneath the arrogant eye of patronizing journalists eager to paint her as a bumbling novice with no business running for anything anywhere that matters. Never mind that BHO’s so-called experience seems inferior when compared to Sarah Palin’s. Never mind that Joe Biden thought that televisions and FDR were in vogue when the market crashed. Despite this blatant, obvious bias in favor of BHO, enough people chose to believe BHO.
What We Are Now Asked To Believe
The star of the show has not even entered the studio and we are already seeing the political cesspool from which he came spew more corruption for all to see. A governor he must have known fairly well selling a senate seat and BHO did not know about – just as he did not know about Rev. Wright, Tony Rezko, or about anyone who ever did anything wrong anywhere near him. History tells us that the Illinois political machine is a pool of corruption ink. We are now being asked to pretend that someone who jumped out of this pool with magical efficiency does not have a spot of ink on his shirt. Now that is real magic, if you ask me.
Comparisons to Believe In
BHO spends half his time comparing himself to Abraham Lincoln while actually pretending that this can be done humbly and innocently. Meanwhile, many people were comparing Sarah Palin to Theodore Roosevelt, given her record as a tough governor with no national experience. Obama dares to compare himself to Lincoln while Palin is compared by others to Theorodore Roosevelt. Perhaps BHO wants to look into adding his face to Mount Rushmore while he is still in office. A nation thrives, and falls, on what it chooses to believe in. A great nation that once believed in its own greatness and mission now chooses to believe in a pied piper selling enough compost to fertilize every inch of this country’s fruited plains. A populace slowly rendered ignorant chooses to believe leftist elitists eager to conceal mass patronization as widespread rescue of mindless sheep too willing or lazy to question what they are told.
Conclusion
Our national security and integrity as a nation is tied to what we believe as a people. Our historical greatness has often been rooted in the ability to apply what is right and ignore what is wrong.
That greatness is now threatened by a new enemy. That enemy is institutionalized stupidity, laziness and gullibility.
Increasingly, this nation seems all too willing to believe in just about anything sold by the mainstream media and liberal elitists. Increasingly, it is beginning to look like the con man who pretends to be Lincoln will be able to fool enough of the people enough of the time. At this point in our nation’s history and with the present situation around the world, believing in a man who believes himself to be another Lincoln seems about as wise as booking Gov. Blagojevich to give a lecture on political ethics.
