Five Sept. 11 Suspects to Face Trial in New York

The Obama administration has announced it will try 9-11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and other 9-11 Gitmo detainees in a civilian federal court in New York, allowing them the protections of the U.S. Constitution even though they are not U.S. citizens.

Do you agree with this?

Exclusive: Liberals, With Your Hypocrisy so Bright, Won’t You Prove My Point Tonight?

As we prepare to exchange gifts, let us think about those who expect entitlement. As we welcome friends and family, let us think of family connections. Finally, as we sing Christmas carols, let us think of sweet Caroline.

In a year when re-gifting might be in norm and Senate seats may soon be on E-bay, it is amazing how liberals’ hypocrisy shines brighter than any nose on any reindeer.

Palin vs. The Princess
There is no need to rehash the way that Sarah Palin was treated by liberals and their pet media during the recent campaign. The Left masked its basic distaste for Palin’s values and philosophy with cries that she had no experience. The media masked that same distaste by spreading and winking at tons of defamation hurled Palin’s way. She was accused of being everything from unfaithful to stupid. Every other newspaper stand rag winked at insinuations and direct lies which dragged Palin’s character, morals, values and integrity through the sewers. At least we know that Caroline Kennedy’s opponents will not visit those typical liberal combat tactics should she secure the seat in question.
Now we discover that Caroline Kennedy has gotten the public service bug. We are told that this bug is not recent for, according to her supporters, she has served public school children and other causes with her time and talents. I am sure that Caroline is a fine mother and person. I know that she is articulate and intelligent. We all know that her family name carries lots of cache. The issue on the table is whether anyone who lambasted Palin a few weeks ago can, with a straight face, now support Kennedy without looking like an imbecilic hypocrite. Fortunately, most imbecilic hypocrites also find it nearly impossible to hide their true natures.
Two Definitions of Experience
Despite being a very popular, elected official of a state who has demonstrated considerable courage, integrity and leadership skills, Sarah Palin was made the butt of jokes from Tina Fey on down. Even though Palin proved her mettle by fighting corruption within her own party and getting things done for her state, the media gleefully presented her as an ignorant hick sporting boots and a hunting rifle on a moose hunting expedition. Disgusted by her proud defense of her faith, the Left painted her as some dangerous religious radical who would soon burn books and force everyone to pray. I will never forget the smug, idiotic look on Charles Gibson’s face during his interrogation of Palin. Here was someone to paint as the fool, and the so-called journalist had a job to do.
There is no need to waste our time recounting why the mainstream national media lost whatever sliver of integrity it may have had on the last election bias fiasco. Anyone still denying that said media is the Left’s geisha groupie is either in deep denial or equally deep stupidity. The truth is, the media fell in love with the Kennedys during Camelot, and that torch still burns bright. We will not be hearing about Ted Kennedy’s cheating in school, any submerged vehicles, controversial WWII associations or shameful family secrets from them.
Enter this nation’s own princess Caroline, who suddenly drops her married name right around the time she wants to become New York’s newest senator. Rarely does one aspirant for a position provide so much vulnerability for opponents. There is plenty of inexperience meat for those who enjoy that taste. Pushed to choose a side on Face The Nation, Geraldine Ferraro could only muster a faint support for New York’s already sitting six members of Congress in search of someone who could “hit the ground running” and would not need to learn the ins and outs of Washington. On that same program, Tom Reynolds and Peter King, two New York Republicans, questioned whether the Senate needs an inexperienced, out-of-touch, and media-scrutiny-shy aristocrat at this moment.
There is, however, equally tasty elitist entitlement meat here as well. It must be nice to decide that one wants a given position and then wave a hand expecting it to be handed over like the soup of the day.
To listen to the likes of New York City’s Mayor Bloomberg or School Chancellor Joel Klein, Caroline Kennedy is qualified to be New York Senator because she has raised her kids well, is bright, worked for Obama, cares about issues, is Ted Kennedy’s niece, has new ideas and wants to get things done in Washington. I am disappointed that none of Caroline’s supporters have mentioned her good dental habits. The bottom line, to no surprise, is that if you are conservative you are either a warmongering lunatic, an arrogant rich person, or a religious fanatic hick whose experience will be questioned at some level and in some way at every turn. If you are a favored liberal, of course, you are a noble saint out to right the wrongs, save the world and free the poor and voiceless from their bondage.
There are those who argue that there is a much lower standard of experience for Congress as compared to the Vice-Presidency and that fact is certainly reasonable. However, when any degree of experience is selectively bashed or praised depending on the candidate’s political affiliation, the entire experience argument falls flat on its face and is revealed as simply so much political compost concealing the lowest disgust for the target’s political and social positions.
Even when a liberal questions Kennedy’s experience, he manages to blast Sarah Palin in the process. Face The Nation panel member Gary Ackerman (D-NY) managed to argue that Kennedy was being “Palin-ized” by being protected by her handlers against media scrutiny. This is all part of liberals’ pet hobby of doing all that they can to make Sarah Palin political poison ivy by 2012. It will not be long before we hear people with glasses called “Palin Eyes.” Do not, however, expect either major liberals or the national media to either blast Caroline Kennedy or begin calling rich children of politically powerful families who expect special perks through their name “Princess Carolines.”
Conclusion
In these tough economic times, many people may dream of more modest offerings beneath their tree. Perhaps we should add one extra wish to our list. Maybe we will be blessed with the chance to see the day when liberals actually put their money where their mouth is and practice what they preach. If we have been nice, perhaps the weight-challenged man in the red suit will see fit to bring us a few days in the upcoming year that are free of continued liberal fertilizer and bold-faced hypocrisy.
Recent events seem to indicate that liberals either love to sell their seats for cash or donate their seats to their own political agenda’s charity. Some argue that it will be in New York Governor Patterson’s best interest to choose Andrew Cuomo over Caroline in order to remove him as an opponent for the governor’s seat in the next election. Others argue that Patterson might have to choose Caroline as a further effort to appease Obama after supporting Hillary Clinton. It is good to see politicians stuck between personal and political corners.
I just thought of two more reasons why many liberals and their pet media believe Caroline Kennedy is qualified to be New York Senator. She inspired a song and played in the Oval Office. I guess that makes Rudolph and Monica Lewinsky the two next candidates for that seat. Merry Christmas to everyone, especially atheists.
