LEBANON: Naharnet is reporting an apparent warning issued by the Lebanese Army to two Lebanese members of parliament (MPs) whom the Army claims may be targeted by terrorists.
According to the report: "attacks on MP Mustafa Alloush and the second legislator whose name was not revealed, could be carried out by extremists, including Fatah al-Islam, after the deadline for announcing candidacies for the June 7 parliamentary elections expires."
Our sources tell us, the unnamed parliamentarian may be Misbah Ahdab, and that Ahdab and Alloush would be the targets of Hizballah assassins (as opposed to Fatah al-Islam) because the two MPs are vocal critics of the Lebanon-based Shiia terrorist organization. Additionally, the Army - which has been heavily infiltrated by Hizballah (even establishing Hizballah as a legitimate wing of the national defense apparatus since Hizballah's successful albeit illegal war against the Lebanese government and citizenry in May 2008) - is now afraid to challenge Hizballah at any level. Thus, the potential targeting of the two parliamentarians is officially proclaimed to be the work of Sunni Fatah al-Islam, when in fact it may well-be either:
GAZA: Speaking of Hamas, [WARNING: DISTURBING VIDEO] here's a shocking reality you are not likely to see in the mainstream media. Yes, these are same murderous thugs seen here forcing captives to leap from buildings who also deliberately and routinely target Israeli civilians with rockets and suicide bombers. Yet the press portrays them as victims and the Israelis (who go to enormous lengths to avoid civilian casualties) as aggressors?
IRAN: Speaking of Iran, Heritage Foundation senior fellow and former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Peter Brookes, writing for the Boston Herald, says: "Like its ‘civilian' nuclear efforts that remained undeclared for two decades, long-range ballistic missiles are likely being developed under cover of Iran's space program. Indeed, Tehran's space work could lead to the development of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) able to reach all of Europe and the United States with a WMD payload. Fact is, with this successful launch Tuesday, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's Iran has moved one step closer to developing that ICBM capability. More launches are expected."
Brookes also makes the point that if "in theory" a ballistic missile can be launched with the capability of placing a satellite into orbit, there is also "the scientific wherewithal to hit a target anywhere on Earth with a warhead."
Unfortunately, more than half of voting America is more concerned with whether or not terrorists at the soon-to-be-closed Guantanamo Bay prison are being treated with respect.
IRAQ: Dr. Phyllis Chesler, writing for PajamasMedia, discusses the recently reported jihadi-recruiting operation in Iraq and elsewhere wherein young Muslim women and girls (even young men) are being raped then persuaded to become suicide bombers as a means of cleansing themselves of the sin forced upon them.
On a lighter note, Dr. Chesler signs off with "Semper Fi!" Not sure if she's one of us privileged to wear the eagle, globe, and anchor. But her heart seems to be in the right place.
