Obama's Poll Numbers Trail Those of ‘W’ - Gallup Covers It Up
Judith A. Klinghoffer
Gallup reports that 56% of the public believes that Obama is doing an excellent/good job. Gallup reported 62% approved of George W. Bush’s job performance after the first 100 days. MSM tells us how popular Barack Obama is but the numbers tell a different story especially when used comparatively. Comparing the Gallup poll taken following the first 100 day of George W. Bush and Barack Obama is rather informative especially given the highly contentious nature of the 2000 election.

A Guns of Nihilism Postscript
Edward Cline, Rule of Reason.Blogspot.com
It’s obvious in Obama’s words and actions, and also in the rhetoric and actions of environmentalists. Environmentalism has moved from being a pseudo-science to being a virulent anti-science religion, attracting all sorts of people searching for a mystical sanction that will allow them to coexist alongside but with apologies to plants, animals and rocks.
Nihilists are secular Buddhists, hankering for a means to exist and not exist at the same time, but preferring their own non-existence if they can take the lovers of life they depend on with them into it. (The actual Buddhists at least keep to themselves.) If they can’t kill or have the lovers of life killed by some means, then they want to make their lives as painful and joyless and burdensome as possible.

A Hundred Anxious Days: In a South Carolina Town Where the Downturn Has Deepened Since the Inauguration, Two Obama Supporters Have Struggled, Going From 'Fired Up' to Tired Out
Eli Saslow, Washington Post.com
Her cordless phone stores 17 voice messages, and tonight the inbox is full. Edith Childs, 60, grabs a bottle of water, tosses her hat on the living room floor and scowls at the blinking red light. A county councilwoman, she spent the past 12 hours driving rural roads in her 2001 Toyota Camry, trying to solve Greenwood's problems, but only now begins the part of each day that exhausts her. Childs slumps into an armless chair and steels herself for a 13-minute confessional.
Across the dark living room, one of Childs's favorite pictures is displayed on a worn coffee table. It shows Childs with her arms wrapped around Barack Obama, his hand on her back, her eyes glowing. They met at a rally attended by 37 supporters on a rainy day in 2007, when Childs responded to Obama's sluggishness on stage with an impromptu chant: "Fired up! Ready to go!" She repeated it, shouting louder each time.
But now, as Obama nears the 100-day milestone of his presidency, Childs suffers from constant exhaustion. In a conservative Southern state that bolstered Obama's candidacy by supporting him early in the Democratic primaries, she awakens at 2:30 a.m. with stress headaches and remains awake mulling all that's befallen Greenwood since Obama's swearing-in.

Ted Olson: ‘Torture’ probes will never end
Byron York, JWR.com
Perhaps more than anyone in Washington today, Theodore Olson knows the dangers of the path the Obama administration is traveling on the question of Bush-era terrorist interrogations.
It's not just that Olson is one of the nation's top lawyers and a former high-ranking Justice Department official. It's not even that his wife Barbara was among those killed by terrorists on September 11, 2001. The thing that makes Olson's perspective so valuable is that his life includes not only those experiences but also a keen perspective on the way Washington investigations can run amok.
In the 1980s, Olson was the subject of controversy over advice he had given, as the head of the Justice Department's Office of Legal Counsel, to President Reagan on a question of constitutional privileges. His position angered Democrats in Congress, and for his troubles, Olson became the target not only of Capitol Hill investigations but a long independent counsel probe. A politically charged issue that should never have been investigated in the first place turned into a years-long nightmare.
Barack Obama Is No Patriot
Henry Mark Holzer.CityMax.com
“Patriot—A person who loves, and loyally or zealously supports, his own country.” Webster’s New World Dictionary of the American Language.
Throughout his presidential election campaign Barack Obama has, one way or another, repeatedly professed that he is a patriot.
Nothing could be further from the truth. Obama’s claim is a blatant, provable lie. It is a fraud on the American people—and an insult to the countless true patriots who, for over two hundred years, have loved and loyally and zealously supported the United States of America.
Indeed, the facts proving Obama’s lack of patriotism are overwhelming.
1. Relationship with, and support for, domestic terrorists
By now, most Americans have heard of Bill Ayers, the rabidly anti-American domestic terrorist bomber of the Capitol and Pentagon and conspirator in murder. Despite the attempted softening whitewashes by the mainstream media, there is no longer any doubt whom Ayers is, what he believes, and what he has done in an effort to destroy America.
Nor is there any doubt that Ayers introduced Obama to Chicago politics, mentored the budding politician, supported him financially and otherwise, and put him nominally in charge of doling out millions to Left and far-Left organizations.
Andrew C. McCarthy has reported that Ayers and Obama funded a “Maoist associate of Ayers who . . . used to host a ‘social justice’ blog on Obama’s campaign website. With Obama heading the board of directors that approved expenditures and Ayers, the mastermind running its operational arm, hundreds of thousands of . . . [Annenberg] dollars poured into the ‘Small Schools Workshop’ — a project begun by Ayers and run by [the Maoist] to spur the revolution from the ground up.”

Obama's Torture Policy for the Unborn
George Neumayr, Spectator.org
What is Obama's abortion-on-demand-forever policy but the building of a modern American way of life upon the graves of tortured babies? And not just the unavenged tears of one baby but millions of them.
This week, however, Obama did avenge the tears of terrorists. World peace, he said, isn't worth theirs. He lectured the CIA that "What makes the United States special and what makes you special is precisely the fact that we are willing to uphold our values and ideals even when it's hard."
Obama's prim pontifications about America's "values and ideals" inspired Chris Matthews and Jack Cafferty, among other deep and careful thinkers, to mull over the question: If torturing terrorists works -- as the Obama administration had to admit grudgingly this week -- is it okay? No, of course not, the chattering class proudly concluded.
One wonders why. What do they care? Having already accepted abortion and euthanasia -- which are nothing more than the expedient killing of the unborn and the elderly -- why should the expedient torture of terrorists, a lesser evil, trouble them? Oh, that's right: the terrorists are guilty and the guilty under the ministrations of modern liberalism never suffer. Pain in modern life is for the innocent.

Ten Ways Barack Obama Is Destroying America
RightWingNews.com
I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that Barack Obama is damaging America more than any other president in its history. Here are ten of the biggest ways Obama is destroying America.
RightWingNews.com
1. He's running up crushing federal debt at a level unprecedented in American history. We are talking trillions upon trillions of dollars in debt. This ensures the the future will bring ruinous taxes, runaway inflation, or eventual financial collapse.
2. He has endorsed and benefitted from systematic violation of election and campaign funding laws. His election saw widespread voter registration fraud from his allies at ACORN and systematic acceptance of dubious campaign donations by disabling normal credit card verification procedures for online donations, allowing donations to be made from foreign donors and from donors using fictitious names. This in turned allowed donors to skirt donation limits if they wished, simply by using bogus names. In the "stimulus" bill, Obama has funded ACORN and similar groups to the tune of billions.

Obama move alarms Israel supporters
Paul Richter, LA Times.com
The Obama administration, already on treacherous political ground because of its outreach to traditional adversaries such as Iran and Cuba, has opened the door a crack to engagement with the militant group Hamas.
The Palestinian group is designated by the U.S. government as a terrorist organization and under law may not receive federal aid.
But the administration has asked Congress for minor changes in U.S. law that would permit aid to continue flowing to Palestinians in the event Hamas-backed officials become part of a unified Palestinian government.

Obama, Your Slips Are Showing!
Burt Prelutsky, Townhall.com
Judging by my e-mail, a great many conservatives are counting down the days until they next get to vote in 2010. They hope and pray that Americans will come to their collective senses and undo some of the horrors unleashed by last November’s election.
At the rate that Obama and the liberals are going, when it comes to piling up the national debt, nationalizing banks and major companies, scuttling our missile defense system, reaching out to Islamic and Communist tyrants, funding ACORN, AmeriCorps and Hamas, discussing nuclear disarmament with Russia at the same time that Iran, Pakistan and North Korea are gearing up, talking tough to Israel while currying favor with the Arabs and the Islamists, I have no idea what will be left to salvage a year-and-a-half down the road.

Obamaphiles Enjoy That Which They Would Deny You
Frederick Meekins, Right Side News.com
The Obama progeny are well into their studies at Sidwell Friends School. As their parents, Barack and Michelle have every right to enroll their daughters in the school they think best for their children. Ironically, this is one of the many prerogatives the President's most enthusiastic supporters would frown upon should you, the average American, decide to exercise them.
For decades now, liberals and secularists have argued that those pursuing nonpublic education for their children ought to be held in suspicion for exhibiting insufficient devotion to the COMMUNITY. Some might try to obfuscate the matter by claiming that that they do not oppose private education as much as they support the public alternatives.
This might be the line propagated for mass consumption, but the leftist opposition to private education (at least when it comes to your children) goes much deeper. For among the elites that think it is their place to mold what those below them believe and even how we live our lives, education is not so much about the accumulation of a particular body of knowledge or set of skills enabling the individual to make a way for themselves and their families in the world.

Telling the Truth - Let the hearings begin!
Noemie Emery, Weekly Standard.com
Some Democrats, from the White House on down, are pushing the idea of a "truth commission," à la South Africa, to deal with the "harsh measures" used by the Bush administration in interrogating al Qaeda detainees. Good. Let's have lots of truthtelling. Please bring it on.
Let's tell the truth about Bush's conduct of the war on terror, which is that it's been a success. His ultimate legacy hasn't been written--Iraq is improved, but not out of danger--but the one thing that can be said without reservation is that the country was kept safe. He delivered on the main charge of his office in time of emergency, in a crisis without guidelines or precedent. Attacks took place in Spain, and in London, in Indonesia and India, but not on American soil, which was the obvious target of choice. Bush couldn't say this before he left office, for obvious reasons, and after he left, attention switched to the new president. This little fact dropped down the memory hole, but with all this discussion, it will rise to the surface. Let the hearings begin!
Also dropped down the memory hole--along with the names of all the Democrats who thought Saddam was a menace who cried out for removal--is what the ambience was like in late 2001 and 2002, when fears of anthrax and suitcase bombs ran rampant, and people on all sides tried to seem tough. Let's tell the truth about all the liberals who went on record supporting real torture, not to
mention the Democrats in Congress, when it was cool to want to seem tough on our enemies, who couldn't be too warlike. Then war and tough measures stopped being cool, and "world opinion" became more important. Nothing like statements under oath to revive ancient memories! And rewind the tapes.

Obama's agenda will ruin U.S. for years
Peter Muehleis, Sheboygan Press.com
Has the bloom gone off the rose for all you Barack Obama defenders yet? I bet not, and it won't for some time.
Let's face it, most of you fell in love with Obama for one of two reasons. He either seemed like this new type of politician who was going to ride into Washington and bring about reform and change, or he simply wasn't George W. Bush.
Either way, you bought into something quite different than what you got.
Many of us knew before the election that Obama, for all his smooth talk, is in over his head. Not only is he not up to the job (better equipped to do late-night talk shows), his agenda will damage us well into the future.
The first signs of ineptitude were several of his cabinet appointees who had previous legal or tax issues (of course when Democrats are caught they are merely oversights).
Then came the declaration to close Guantanamo, only to be followed by the announcement of some detainees of their pride in their involvement of various terrorist plots.
Not to be outdone he and Hillary Clinton embraced themselves with tacky gifts and uneducated comments with European leaders.
All this and more is not enough to dissuade Obama supporters or the media (two interchangeable terms).
What might get their attention in the long run, however, is the economy; especially the precipitous drop in the stock market since his election. Now to hear Obama tell it, it was all an inherited problem from "you know who."
For all the hype about how smart Obama is, it's clear to many that when it comes to business, he has gone out of his way to make the engine of this country the whipping boy for all our problems. Many Americans, of course, like this tone from the White House, since it's easy to hate "Big Oil," "Big Drug," "Big Banks."
