Five Sept. 11 Suspects to Face Trial in New York

The Obama administration has announced it will try 9-11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and other 9-11 Gitmo detainees in a civilian federal court in New York, allowing them the protections of the U.S. Constitution even though they are not U.S. citizens.

Do you agree with this?

Tea Party Patriots Group demands apology from Democrats
Rick Moran, American Thinker.com

Good for Mark Tapscott of the Washington Examiner for reprinting this open letter by Jenny Beth Martin of Tea Party Patriots that takes the president, Speaker Pelosi, and the media to task for denigrating the more than one million Americans who turned out on April 15th to protest.

You really have to read the whole thing but here are few haymakers thrown by Martin that find their mark:

In a development that can only further denigrate the discourse necessary to any effective democracy, politicians and the "serious" news media are now mocking citizens regularly and with impunity.

While liberal Democrats, including the President, pretend they don't know what the tea party movement is all about and dismiss the group as little more than wild-eyed racists, organizers appear to be on track to make the July 4th protests even bigger. The movement is apparently growing despite the most vicious, unprincipled attacks seen against an opposition to government policies in many years.

Maybe when a couple of million Americans turn out on July 4th, that attitude will change. Read article.

But they CAN be Debunked, Defunded, Derailed and Deposed
JB Williams, Canada Free Press.com

The Obamanation is steamrolling over the American people, the US Constitution, freedom and liberty and the momentum is clearly on their side at the moment. Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals have already proven to be extremely effective when used by very extreme people on a do-or-die quest for extreme central powers…

In my opinion, the momentum is so much on their side, that there is quite literally NO means of stopping them. If you step in their way, you will simply get run over.

This does NOT mean that there is nothing you can do, however.
Hundreds of emails and thousands of comments from readers per day ask the same question over and over again, “What can we do?” Read article.

Obama's New American Economy
Sultan Knish.blogspot.com

The saying used to be – “What's good for Detroit is good for America.”

These days Detroit is a barely functioning city, one of the few major American cities whose population has actually dropped sharply losing half its population since 1950 and whose Mayor is awaiting a prison sentence. It also highlights the future of Obama's New American Economy... and this time what's going on in Detroit, isn't good for America.

Of the three big US automakers, two, Chrysler and GM, found themselves in big financial trouble. And out of that emerged their new future, as government subsidized and union controlled companies, following the lead of Europe's own failing car companies. Read article.

The Obama Doctrine: The Castrated States of America
Doug Giles, Townhall.com

In just 100 days Obama has moved us from a war footing to a wuss footing. Yes sir, from a foreign policy/national defense standpoint, Barack is making Jimmy Carter look like a full-on badass. The President is dead set on taking off our rowdy body armor and replacing it with a petite glittered bustier; he’s insisting that our General Pattons become generally passive. A one-eyed, myopic circus freak can see this.

Yep, forget the G.I. Joe, Johnny Get Your Gun image America used to tout. Obama would rather us morph into a chatty Jiminy Glick before those who want us dead.

You just know Osama and his boys are in some Pakistani cave smoking a hookah piled high with blonde Lebanese hash as they praise Allah and laugh their butts off at how stupid and soft we’ve become in just a few months while they plot their next “manmade disaster,” as Janet Napolitano would call it.

I’m certain that this recent transition from bold to bland is making all the “progressives” feel smarmy as they imagine in their warm and fuzzy heart of hearts that they have just climbed up a couple rungs on the evolutionary ladder. Read article.

Intrusion of Reality: The Left understands that the character of a people can be transformed.
Mark Steyn, NRO.com

We’re still in the first 100 days of the joyous observances of Barack Obama’s first 100 days, and many weeks of celebration lie ahead, so here are my thoughts:

President Obama’s strongest talent is not his speechifying, which is frankly a bit of a snoozeroo. In Europe, he left ‘em wanting less pretty much every time (headline from Britain’s Daily Telegraph: “Barack Obama really does go on a bit”). That uptilted chin combined with the left-right teleprompter neck swivel you can set your watch by makes him look like an emaciated Mussolini umpiring an endless rally of high lobs on Centre Court at Wimbledon. Each to his own, but I don’t think those who routinely hail him as the greatest orator since Socrates actually sit through many of his speeches.

On the other hand, if you just caught a couple of minutes of last Wednesday’s press conference, you’d be impressed. When that groupie from the New York Times asked the president about what, during his first hundred days, “had surprised you the most . . . enchanted you the most . . . humbled you the most and troubled you the most,” Obama made a point of getting out his pen, writing it down and repeating back the multiple categories: “Enchanted,” he said. “Nice.” Indeed. Some enchanted evening, you may see a stranger, you may see a stranger across a crowded room, but then he scribbles down your multi-part question to be sure he gets it right, and he looks so thoughtful, and suddenly he’s not a stranger anymore, and the sound of his laughter will ring in your dreams. Here Comes Hillary; There Goes Lebanon
Barry Rubin, Gloria-Center.com

Suddenly, the United States has awoken to the fact that in one month Lebanon is likely to be taken over by a radical government and hijacked into the Iran-Syria alliance. Unfortunately, this apparently doesn’t mean it—or European states—are going to do anything about it.

In early June, the odds are—though one can still hope otherwise—that the parliamentary majority will be held by a coalition backed by Tehran and Damascus. Hizballah is not going to “take over” the country politically and that is a point no doubt which will be used by governments and media to prove that there’s no problem.

Even UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon, not generally identified as an alarmist and activist, has just started sounding the alarm, "The threat that armed groups and militias pose to the sovereignty and stability of the Lebanese state cannot be overstated," he said. Read article.

The things you don’t read about Barack Obama
Andrew W. Smith, The Chronicle Herald.com

Will Rogers famously pleaded that all he knew was what he read in the papers. If all a person knew of Barack Obama’s first 100 days as president was what they read of them in this newspaper, it would seem to be a very charmed young presidency.

So here is a small selection of news on the most powerful man on Earth, which has been deemed unfit to print:

•Obama’s Defence Department announced cuts of $1.4 billion to missile defence, the day after North Korea test-fired its long-range, multi-stage ballistic missile.

The people need a Fourth Estate, not yet another adulator of Barack Obama, yet another smearer of Sarah Palin, yet another patrician editor to keep out anything disagreeable to progressive sensibilities, yet another laptop-and-latte journalism-schooler to spit on everything pre-dating 1968. And they wonder why the news business has come on hard times. Read article.

The Hollow Man
"Papa B" - Director Blue.Blogspot.com

While watching President Obama speak in his latest "press conference," it suddenly struck me what has been so troubling since Obama’s introduction and his ongoing "coronation."

While we are mildly amused at his teleprompter gaffes, they are really reflections of a characteristic that is deeper and more serious.

During the campaign, the opposition flailed away at Obama, citing his lack of experience, his relationships with Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, and the corrupt environment on Chicago's south side. References were made to his upbringing, the loose ties with his family, his odd visits to various countries, and strong ties to Socialist education and influences.

These do not really identify the essence of the problem, in my opinion. The problem is that he is a “hollow man”.

Hollow, because he has no value system. No value system, because his upbringing did not allow it. While President Bush can be criticized for much, he -- and some of his predecessors -- possessed a value system. You could always tell what issues affected him deeply.

His face and his eyes did not lie.

President Obama is a collection of beliefs, philosophies and agendas that have been imparted to him over the years by teachers, campaign activists, organizers, agitators, contributors, supporters, labor union leaders and lobbyists. Their teachings are, to some extent, fables. Read article.

Obama’s pay-to-play scheme
Don Surber, Blogs.Daily Mail.com

ABC's Jake Tapper reported: “Thomas Lauria, Global Practice Head of the Financial Restructuring and Insolvency Group at White & Case, told ABC News that Rattner suggested to an official of the boutique investment bank Perella Weinberg Partners that officials of the Obama White House would embarrass the firm for opposing the Obama administration plan, which President Obama announced Thursday, and which requires creditors to accept roughly 29 cents on the dollar for an estimated $6.8 billion owed by Chrysler.”

In short, Obama wants companies to eat nearly $5 billion so that he can give away Chrysler to protect union jobs.

The unions that backed him. This is their payoff.

If true, this is the biggest corruption scam in American history.

But like Obama’s $750 million campaign jackpot, this alleged pay-to-play scam will not be investigated by the authorities, Congress or the press.

Maybe Tapper will stay on it, if Walt Disney-ABC lets him stay on the story. Read article.

Obama's Whack-a-Mole Politics
Michael Gabor, American Thinker.Blog.com

Years ago, along a familiar midway, between the Amazing Headless Woman and the Matterhorn, the Whack-a-Mole hungrily waited for quarters amid blinking lights, clanging bells, and the cacophony of nearby barkers. To a kid, both the summer sun and a pocketful of change seemed like they would last forever. If, somehow, our future selves could tell us that forever would amount to the blink of an eye, we wouldn’t have believed it.

Fast forward to the frenzied first 100 days in office of our Carney Pitchman in Chief: the sheer volume and frequency of gaffes, cons, misguided solutions, outrageous abuses of executive power, and repeated episodes of bad judgment, make it difficult for a rational individual to come to grips with any specific untoward development before they are assailed by yet another one.

Today’s vast left wing Whack-a-Mole machine doesn’t even have the decency to let you catch your breath between games: while you are on your hands and knees trying to figure out exactly where on the floor your jaw last fell in20response to, say, the President of the United States subserviently bowing to a foreign prince, you might miss a panic-inducing New York City fly-by, the firing of a CEO of a private company by the President, or the President shamelessly marketing our purported national shame to the rest of the world. To The "Obama Brand,” let’s add a court jester
Fausta's Blog.com

Yesterday the Wall Street Journal inaugurated their glossy magazine, which is all you can expect and more (including that ad with the ever-sexy septuagenarian), and their cover story was resident White House publicist - official title “social secretary” - Desirée Rogers.

Rogers sees her job as selling brand Obama:

“We have the best brand on earth: the Obama brand,” Rogers says. “Our possibilities are endless.” Like all brands, the Obama brand has a “crown jewel,” she explains, and that crown jewel is the White House.

Not since Jacqueline Kennedy redecorated the White House and used it as a showcase for arts and culture, which helped create the Camelot mystique, has a first family so captured popular fascination, first-lady historian Myra Gutin says. Whether this approach has much to do with the dignity of the office remains in question, but clearly it has to do with unmitigated propaganda, and will have a heck of a lot to do with the buckets of money to be made by the Obamas after Pres. Obama leaves office, and by his staff members after they leave their jobs in this administration.
