My dad and father-in-law fought for the freedoms that many of us see slipping away today. From them, I learned American values and a deep love for our country. So much that I have pledged my life, fortune, and sacred honor to defend our Constitution from foreign and domestic terrorists. It will be my death before the legacy of Communism will be left for my children.

 

Increasingly, however, the specter of Communism – once thought of as alien to everything American – is looming on the horizon, fueled by Fifth Columns seeking to destroy our freedoms and enslave our citizens. It is a group of people, who by definition, secretly undermines a larger group, such as a nation, from within, to the aid and comfort of an external enemy.

 

On a recent visit to Utah, my parents asked me to find them a Tea Party because they knew I had communicated with our Michigan Tea Party organizers. As recently as last summer, General Motors filing for bankruptcy would have been the biggest news story of the week. But it’s not such a very great step from the unthinkable to the inevitable, and by the time it actually happened the market barely noticed and the media were focused on the president’s “address to the Muslim world.” As it happens, these two stories are the same story: snapshots, at home and abroad, of the hyperpower in eclipse. It’s a long time since anyone touted GM as the emblematic brand of America — What’s good for GM is good for America, etc. In fact, it’s more emblematic than ever:

 

 Like General Motors, the U.S. government spends more than it makes, and has airily committed itself to ever more unsustainable levels of benefits. GM has about 95,000 workers but provides health benefits to a million people: It’s not a business enterprise, but a vast welfare plan with a tiny loss-making commercial sector. As GM goes, so goes America?

 

But who cares? Overseas, the coolest president in history was giving a speech. Or, as the official press release headlined it on the State Department website, “President Obama Speaks to the Muslim World from Cairo.”

 

Let’s pause right there: It’s interesting how easily the words “the Muslim world” roll off the tongues of liberal secular progressives who’d choke on any equivalent reference to “the Christian world.” When such hyper-alert policemen of the perimeter between church and state endorse the former but not the latter, they’re implicitly acknowledging that Islam is not merely a faith but a political project, too. There is an “Organization of the Islamic Conference,” which is already the largest single voting bloc at the U.N. and is still adding new members.

 

 Imagine if someone proposed an “Organization of the Christian Conference” that would hold summits attended by prime ministers and presidents, and vote as a bloc in transnational bodies. But, of course, there is no “Christian world”: Europe is largely post-Christian and, as President Obama bizarrely asserted to a European interviewer last week, America is “one of the largest Muslim countries in the world.” Perhaps we’re eligible for membership in the OIC. With his now-over-20 Czars whose sole purpose is to control We-the-People and our currently-being-flushed-down-the-toilets way of life, Obama has almost completed the foundational building of his totalitarian regime. One of Obama’s soon to be instilled (again with NO accountability to Congress or anyone other than the new US dictator) is a “Pay Czar” who will determine what We-the-People (beginning with CEOs and then extending to the proletariat-poor [by Obama-design] working class) are allowed to earn. Big Brother has arrived and he hates all of us - except those who genuflect before him and willingly give him all of their possessions.

 

Included amongst (but certainly not limited to) the dictator’s czars are a “Health Czar” (who will determine who can and cannot receive medical care) to oversee Dictator Obama’s Universal Healthcare (which will soon after its implementation provide healthcare for few and eventually no one save the Obama Elite), a “Car Czar” (who is 31 years of age and an attorney who has never even run a small business) to determine what cars are allowed to be manufactured in the USA, a “Great Lakes Cleanup Czar” (in saner times the comment to this appointment would be “He has to be kidding!”), a “Cyber Czar” to determine the content of the US Internet - NOT to check on real terrorists - including who may and may not post commentary (Obama’s opposers will soon be banned) and now his “Pay Czar.” The US Constitution is now moot and - via lack of use or importance to the current administration - null and void. In other words, We-the-People no longer - officially - exist. Now we can see clearly what's been happening in the United States during the last three decades. While conservatives have been working to improve our democracy and our free-market economy, liberals have been working to replace our democracy with a dictatorship, and our free-market economy with a command economy controlled by the government. The liberals couldn't say this aloud, because if they did the American people would have tossed them out of office on their ears. So the liberals worked covertly, feigning support for democracy and for the free market while working diligently to undermine both. 

 

This is why our politics has been so partisan, so vicious, and so deadlocked. This is why words have lost their meaning in Washington, why we can never get to the bottom of anything, why we lurch from one manufactured scandal to another. It's all been part of a decades-long effort by the liberals to throw sand in our eyes -- to keep us from seeing clearly where they really want to take us. (And this explains why, when we question their judgment on some issue, they go berserk and accuse us of questioning their patriotism. They're afraid we're on the verge of catching on. If you want to have some fun, the next time you're chatting with a liberal and he goes nuts when you call him a socialist, say to him: "I'm so sorry you're offended. Please tell me, what is there about socialism you don't like?" You won't get a coherent answer; he'll just accuse you of a hate crime.)

 

With the election of Barack Obama as president, the liberals have launched a massive, two-front offensive they believe will end in victory. They have judged that our public education system is so degraded that only a few Americans are left who even understand what a democracy is, and how the free market actually works. They are convinced that the majority of Americans are too frightened by the current recession to care about preserving the principles that made us the most powerful, productive and innovative country the world has ever known. In short, the liberals are reaching for victory because they believe that history now is on their side.

As more and more audio and video emerge on Barack Obama's desire to redistribute wealth, not to mention his views on the housing crisis that has torpedoed the U.S. economy, I keep returning to two columns I've read by Frank Marshall Davis, the communist journalist-agitator who mentored Obama in Hawaii. While much attention has been paid to Obama's relationship with communist-terrorist Bill Ayers -- and rightly so -- much less attention has been devoted to Davis. That's a mistake, since Obama was influenced more by Davis than Ayers.

 

Davis, who is now deceased, was an African American from the Midwest who had worked as a columnist for the Chicago Star, the communist newspaper of Chicago, a city that had one of the largest CPUSA affiliates, and, in fact, hosted the September 1919 convention that launched the American Communist Party.

 

Though Davis always tried to conceal any communist associations -- ironically, Obama supporters have picked up that torch -- there's no question that Davis was a communist, as is immediately evident upon reading his columns, examining his background, or consulting with people in the party (to this day) who confirm he was a communist. The fact that he was at least a lower case "c" "communist" is obvious. It takes a little more digging to find evidence of his membership in CPUSA -- but not much.

 

Among the sources that reveal his membership are Davis himself, notably in a letter he wrote to a friend, published posthumously by his biographer, Professor John Edgar Tidwell. "I have recently joined the Communist party," wrote Davis. Read article.

President Obama needs our urgent support, he says, because he wants to pass healthcare reform this year. Apparently it’s so urgent that he’s reversing the positions that got him elected.

 

Candidate Obama, who ruthlessly attacked Candidate McCain for proposing to tax health benefits “for the first time in history” – when McCain was actually offering a tax credit – is now President Obama, who is suddenly “open to” taxing our health benefits.

 

Candidate Obama, who vowed he didn’t want an individual mandate for purchasing health insurance, as his Democratic primary opponent Candidate Clinton did, is now President Obama, who “could support” mandates on individual Americans.

 

The president told Senate leaders in a letter this week that he is still committed to the “principle that if [Americans] like the coverage they have now, they can keep it.” This sounds good, and it’s politically smart because 70 percent of insured Americans are happy with their coverage, according to a Rasmussen poll.

 

But Obama has done a 180-degree turn on his other principles, and there’s no reason to believe this one will stand. Read article.

Those outside groups and interested parties who have held their fire in the health-care debate while waiting for the details to emerge — well, there really is no excuse now. Everyone should know what is coming.

 

On Tuesday, President Obama sent a letter to Senators Kennedy and Baucus outlining what kind of bill he wants and will support. And what he wants is a government takeover of American health-care, plain and simple.

 

Sure, the letter’s only three pages long (that constitutes a “plan” in this administration). But it was probably written to give the senators some political cover for the more controversial provisions they plan to pass, and thus it contains just enough coded language to confirm that all involved are planning to hand full control over American health-care to the federal government.

 

For starters, President Obama unequivocally endorses the creation of a new government-run insurance option for working age Americans and their families. For weeks, Senator Baucus has hinted that - well, maybe such an option isn’t necessary. That led many on the left to put pressure back on Democrats in Congress to deliver what they had promised — or else. With the president’s re-endorsement of the idea (he supported it during his campaign), it is now inconceivable that the Democrats won’t include a heavily price-controlled government-run plan in the bill they try to pass. The photo op was too good to be true. Health care providers trooped out of the White House and trumpeted their goal of saving $1.7 trillion of costs over the next decade in health spending.   Now these drug companies, hospitals, insurance companies, medical device manufacturers, labor unions and doctors have laid out their plans in more detail.

 

And right there, in plain print, is the beginning of medical care rationing. Now that the cameras have been put away and the media is no longer watching, their secret emerges: They are going to cut medical costs by cutting medical care. Right now, they cite four targets. They plan to:

 

1. Cut diagnostic imaging tests like MRIs and CAT scans.

 

2. Reduce the use of antibiotics.

 

3. Perform fewer Caesarean sections.

 

4. Cut care for management of chronic back pain

 

These decisions will not be medical but financial. They will not be based on a doctor's opinion of what his or her patient needs, but a bureaucrat's and an accountant s opinion of what the new health care system can afford. 

 

And you will not be able to bypass their rulings and pay for this care yourself. The rules laid down must be followed and private payments will not be permitted to override them. What we now call a private fee for service will metastasize into a bribe.

Throughout our history, Americans have been inspired by many patriotic slogans such as “I have not yet begun to fight,” or “I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country,” or “Remember the Alamo.” I don’t believe the nation will find much inspiration in the Obama Administrations new one: “Remember the Yugo!”

 

Barack Obama promised the “nation of change,” “We cannot, must not, and we will not let our auto industry simply vanish.” Nope. He has other plans. He’s going to build Yugos. Well, Obama is too clever to actually say that, but Yugos will certainly be the result of the anticipated federal take-over of the American auto industry.

 

Americans should all remember the Yugo- the pride of communist Yugoslavia – the first commie car to endanger American highways back in the 1980’s. Small, affordable and easy on gas- the perfect modern car for our current economic and environmental crisis that the Obama Administration is hell-bent on perpetuating, regardless of economic or scientific fact.

 

Of course, most Yugos only ran long enough to get off the lot and into the driveway. Those lucky enough to drive them further just had to keep a bucket in the back seat for emergencies - when it was necessary to stop and pick up the parts that flew off when their Yugo hit a pot hole. In short, the Yugo was an international joke because it certainly did showcase the skills of communist workers in an industry controlled by communist bureaucrats.

 

Now, in the United States, where the car for the masses was born from the genius of Henry Ford’s free market assembly line, Barack Obama and the Democrat Congress have declared themselves the saviors of the American auto industry. They know what Americans need best! They know how to get Americans buying American cars and get the economy going again. Read article.

Studebaker, Nash-Kelvinator, Packard, Hudson, Stutz, Pierce-Arrow, Stanley, Checker and American Motors were once household names of the U.S. auto industry. Unlike General Motors in our time, they were not too big to fail. Despite mergers and rescue efforts by their owners, each was shut down. Their legacy lives on as classic cars, restored with erotic affection by collectors.

 

GM's end is different. In the spirit of the new age, General Motors, like Citigroup and AIG, will be kept alive in an industrial coma. One has to ask: Is this where the entire country is headed? Since January, it looks like it is.

 

After GM's bondholders last weekend refused to answer the bell for another round with Uncle Sam, the White House put out a statement: "As a result, the President has deemed GM's plan viable and will be making available about $30 billion of additional federal assistance to support GM's restructuring plan."

 

Read that sentence again, slowly. It holds what look like the keywords of the American future: the president, deems, viable, making available, federal assistance, support, restructuring plan. Read article.

Mainstream conservatives are routinely mischaracterized as extreme by liberals and squishy Republicans, when it is America's liberals who are, by any fair measure, more extreme.

 

Conservatives are not the ones who sermonize about tolerance yet demonstrate intolerance toward conservative and Christian thought; support exterminating babies in the womb; apologize the world over for America; or gut the military and missile defense because of some dangerously egotistical notion that they have the magic to turn evil into goodness with their charisma and eloquence or, even worse, because they refuse to recognize evil in the world, except as emanating from the United States.

 

Conservatives aren't the ones who have so little faith in their fellow human beings that they diminish their dignity by expanding the welfare state and increasing man's learned dependency on government; judge people by the color of their skin instead of the content of their character; pit economic groups against one another, stoking the flames of envy and greed; punish success, reward failure and promote mediocrity; side with the world's tyrants and dictators; slavishly attach themselves to leftist propaganda about impending environmental catastrophes; promote a secular humanist worldview that considers government a quasi-deity that can perfect the human condition; or morally equate the practice of enhanced interrogation techniques to save innocent lives with that of beheading innocent people.

Trading Equal Protection for Empathy

When Resident Barack Hussein Obama named one of the most arrogant magistrates on the federal bench as his pick to replace retiring Associate US Supreme Court Justice David Souter, the media jumped on the off-key liberal choir by calling his choice "inspiring" even though the US Supreme Court she wants to join overturned 60% of her rulings.

 

As Obama picked 2nd US Circuit Court of Appeals magistrate Sonia Sotomayor on Wed., May 26, he referred to the far left jurist as a "moderate"—not because she made centrist decisions, but simply beccause she was brought to the federal bench by a Republican, George H.W. Bush (whose taste in judges, except for Associate Justice Clarence Thomas, seems to be seasoned with a left-handed salt shaker.

 

Sotomayor served as a former New York City Assistant District Attorney for five years (i.e., a "grunt" lawyer with no decision-making authority or opportunties to advance in the DA's office) before entering into private practice in New York. With absolutely no judicial experience, Sotomayor should never have been on anyone's radar screen for a federal judgeship—most certainly not on a Republican's.

 

In point of fact, she wasn't. She was actually on a Democrat's radar screen during the last year of Bush-41's single term in office. Just as liberal Republican former New Hampshire Governor//Bush-41 Chief-of-Staff John Sununu picked Souter, liberal New York Democratic Senator Daniel Moynihan was allowed to pick two of seven federal judges in a compromise to keep Bush-41's judicial appointments from being filibustered. Knowing her pedigree, Moynihan picked Sotomayor to fill the bench on the US District Court for the Southern District of New York. Thus, Obama claims that a Republican president picked her is not true. She may, in fact, be the first federal court judge in US history picked by a US Senator and not a President.
