Well, I'm glad that's over! Now that our silver-tongued president has gone to Cairo to soothe Muslims' hurt feelings, they love us again! Muslims in Pakistan expressed their appreciation for President Barack Obama's speech by bombing a fancy hotel in Peshawar this week.

   

Operating on the liberal premise that what Arabs really respect is weakness, Obama listed, incorrectly, Muslims' historical contributions to mankind, such as algebra (actually that was the ancient Babylonians), the compass (that was the Chinese), pens (the Chinese again) and medical discoveries (huh?).

   

But why be picky? All these inventions came in mighty handy on Sept. 11, 2001! Thanks, Muslims!!

 

Obama bravely told the Cairo audience that 9/11 was a very nasty thing for Muslims to do to us, but on the other hand, they are victims of colonization.

   

Except we didn't colonize them. The French and the British did. So why are Arabs flying planes into our buildings and not the Arc de Triomphe? (And gosh, haven't the Arabs done a lot with the Middle East since the French and the British left!) Read article.

Just having the appearance of someone who might possibly vote for an opponent of Barack Obama could land them on the President's enemies list where proxies do the dirty work. Political appointees in the Justice Department killed a six-month investigation by career DOJ lawyers into the most blatant voter intimidation case in 40 years. Last November, jack-booted, uniformed, baton-wielding thugs from the New Black Panther Party calling themselves "security" obstructed a Philadelphia polling location and behaved in an intimidating manner toward white voters.

 

Days after dismissing charges against the menacing thugs, the Justice Department moved in the opposite direction by blocking responsible steps to stem voter fraud. The DOJ barred the administrative procedures Georgia authorities put into place – under federal court guidance -- to verify voter registrations. The DOJ claimed the procedures violated the rights of minority voters.

 

A de facto Obama enemies list and dirty political machine have been expanding since last year. Obama has established several embarrassing presidential firsts including targeting private individuals by names, assigning a well-known "partisan dirt-digger" and non-lawyer to the White House Counsel's Office to likely gain access to Bush Administration documents protected under attorney-client privilege, and moving the senior political advisor into the West Wing. These are heretofore unseen partisan practices.

Career opposition researcher Shauna Daly left the White House Counsel's Office after a mere month and returned to the Democratic National Committee where using privileged attorney-client information in the opposition research department would set a new low in unethical practices. Read article.

When I read Barack Obama’s speech in Cairo I thought initially of two words:

 

Neville Chamberlain.

 

But then I decided I was wrong and doing an injustice to Chamberlain.

 

Neville Chamberlain was an accommodationist weakling, not a conservative but a technocrat, who decided at Munich in 1938 that his country did not have the stuff to contest Hitler-so he conceded the Sudetenland of Czechoslovakia to Germany. An evil action. But latest research develops he did this to stall until British armaments increased. At least he meant well. But when things blew up, his best friend in the House recited Oliver Cromwell’s declaration to the Rump parliament:

 

“You have sat too long for any good you have been doing! Depart, I say and let us have done with you! In the name of God, go!” Read article.

During the 2008 presidential primary Osama was raked over the coals on every imaginable issue including constitutional (e.g., “native born” citizen), personal (e.g., Ayers, Dohrn), transparency (e.g., his academic accomplishments), ethics (e.g., eliminating his opponents), mentors (e.g., Tony Rezko), legal (e.g., fundraising), political influences (e.g. Saul Alinsky) and more.

 

In addition to obfuscating about these issues, candidate Obama was hardly more forthcoming about his core poliical, economic and jurisprudential values.

 

Now we know, explicitly.

 

Politically: “We won, and can do whatever we want.”

 

Economically: As he told Joe the Plumber during the campaign, “It’s good to spread the wealth around.”

 

Jurisprudentially: Judges should decide empathetically, whilst making policy (rather than the politically accountable Congress).

 

A formidable agenda, with only one stumbling block: the Supreme Court.

 

To accomplish that agenda, above all else Obama must control the Supreme Court of the United States. Virtually every one of Obama’s socialist/fascist plans for the American economy, financial system, culture and other aspects of our lives are subject to judicial scrutiny—eventually by Obama-appointed federal judges, merrily making policy and exercising their sizeable reservoirs of empathy. The data for April and May prove that Obama's plan to rescue those facing mortgage foreclosure is a dismal failure. Since this issue was the cornerstone of his economic program during the campaign, its abject failure is a significant setback for the Administration's economic plan.

 

In the month ending on May 26th, 464,983 foreclosures of subprime and Alt-A mortgages (out of a universe of 3.2 million studied). So 15% of all subprime mortgages were foreclosed in May! Only 19,041 -- a paltry 6% -- were modified during this period. And of those modified, only 11,200 involved any reduction in the monthly payments! Only 12% involved any write-off of interest, fees, or principal and 27% of the loan modifications actually increased the monthly payments due.

 

Alan M. White of the Valparaiso Law School, who conducted the study, noted that the data showed that "the Administration's plan to stimulate mortgage modifications does not seen to have had much effect yet, at least in this market segment" [i.e. subprimes].

 

And the trend lines are all bad:

 

• The number of loan modifications dropped 11% from April to May.

 

• The ratio of foreclosure losses to modification write downs (the amount lost in foreclosure: the amount rescued by write-downs) doubled in the past month. For every dollar saved in modifications, $150 was lost in foreclosure.

 

When Obama launched his mortgage rescue plan, he promised that it would help five million households. So far, he is about 4,969,000 short of his goal!!

Barack Obama is a clever fellow who imbibed hatred of America with his mother's milk, but worked his way up the elite ladder of education and career. He shares the resentment of Muslims against the encroachment of American culture, although not their religion. He has the empathetic skill set of an anthropologist who lives with his subjects, learns their language, and elicits their hopes and fears while remaining at emotional distance. That is, he is the political equivalent of a sociopath. The difference is that he is practicing not on a primitive tribe but on the population of the United States.

 

"Cherchez la femme," advised Alexander Dumas in: "When you want to uncover an unspecified secret, look for the woman." In the case of Barack Obama, we have two: his late mother, the went-native anthropologist Ann Dunham, and his rancorous wife Michelle. Obama's women reveal his secret: he hates America.

 

We know less about Senator Obama than about any prospective president in American history. His uplifting rhetoric is empty, as Hillary Clinton helplessly protests. His career bears no trace of his own character, not an article for the Harvard Law Review he edited, or a single piece of legislation. He appears to be an empty vessel filled with the wishful thinking of those around him. But there is a real Barack Obama. No man - least of all one abandoned in infancy by his father - can conceal the imprint of an impassioned mother, or the influence of a brilliant wife.

 

Ann Dunham died in 1995, and her character emerges piecemeal from the historical record, to which I will return below. But Michelle Obama is a living witness. Her February 18 comment that she felt proud of her country for the first time caused a minor scandal, and was hastily qualified. But she meant it, and more. Read article.

Treasury Secre tary Timothy Geithner wasn't playing for yucks when he visited China last week. But when he told students at a Chinese university that China's assets in the United States are "very safe," the audience burst out in laughter.

 

The Chinese own so much of our debt, they have a keen interest in US fiscal probity, and apparently a dim view of our ability to achieve it. The mandarins of a notionally communist government are now forced to harangue the world's emblematic capitalist country about its ever-spiraling public debt.

 

Mao Zedong and John D. Rockefeller must be spinning in their graves, though in different directions. Read article.

It's hard to tell whether this meeting, at a La Madeleine restaurant in a sprawling shopping-center complex just outside Washington, is the start of a historic movement or just a strangely wonkish group-therapy session.

 

About 20 people from Northern Virginia have come to this faux-rustic French café on a Saturday morning to discuss health care reform. That alone makes them unusual; after all, there are a lot of other things one could be doing to begin the weekend. But they have answered the call from Organizing for America (OFA), which is basically the 2008 Obama campaign operating under a new name.

 

"This is the political issue I care about most, apart from the war," declares one woman, who says she was born and raised in Canada and favors a Canadian-style, single-payer health care system for the U.S.

 

"It's a moral issue," says another woman, who identifies herself as a nurse.

 

"It's criminal," says a woman who is from France and envisions a European-style, single-payer system for this country.

 

This meeting, and others like it -- OFA says there were thousands all across the country -- is the beginning of the hand-to-hand phase of the health care reform fight. After months of buildup, the White House is planning an all-out campaign to pass its reform package, whatever that turns out to be. Read article.

The apostle Paul said: "For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from truth and turn aside to myths" (2 Timothy 4:3-4).

 

Indeed, this generation is loath to tolerate not only biblical doctrine but also other truths. President Barack Obama tickles the world's ears with promises of hope, change, peace, harmony, diversity, pluralism and "tolerance," but in too many cases, he has allowed truth to become a casualty -- and more than a harmless casualty. Nowhere was that more clearly demonstrated than in his speech in Cairo to the Muslim world.

 

Many judge Obama's speeches, not to mention his policies and actions, on his high-sounding rhetoric and professed good will. They ignore his obvious errors and contradictions, duping themselves into believing that supposedly good intentions alone will trump facts and reality and insulate us from the negative consequences that will flow from his distortions.
