Senior Intelligence Officials: Attempted Terror Attack "Certain"

The five senior leaders of the U.S. intelligence community told a Senate panel they are "certain" that terrorists will attempt another attack on the United States in the next three to six months.
If true, why do you think the jihadists feel emboldened?

Exclusive: How to Reclaim American Liberty: Live up to Our Responsibilities as American Citizens

Have you been asking yourself what you can do to reclaim the principles of liberty that laid the foundation of America? Joining our grassroots coalition is a great start.

The Family Security Foundation , whose web site is FamilySecurityMatters.org , has created a working partnership with the Hudson Institute and Human Events to create the Committee to Preserve American Liberty: a permanent committee whose purpose we plan to initiate with a symposium entitled Reclaim American Liberty.

The symposium is in response to what we Americans recently have witnessed: an unprecedented radical transformation of our culture, our economy and our political system along with an expansion of government authority and intrusiveness that is not only unique but dangerous and, most likely, unconstitutional.

In the symposium, our country’s top speakers, writers, thinkers and commentators have been invited to speak, and a grassroots effort to extend the teachings of the symposium into the citizenry will follow the day-long event. The symposium will take place January 13, 2010, at the Union League Club in New York City and will focus on three primary topics:

  • The Economy
  • Foreign Policy/National Defense
  • Regaining American Sovereignty

In each category, the symposium will explore how the federal government has moved us far away from our founding principles, and then outline what we as citizens can do to get our country back on track.

Confirmed speakers include General Richard Myers, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs; Ambassador John Bolton, former Ambassador to the UN; Michael Mukasey, former Attorney General; Andrew McCarthy, lead prosecutor on the Blind Sheik case; Claudia Rosett of Forbes Online; Lt. Col. Allen West (U.S. Army, ret.) and candidate for Congress; Joseph Loconte, the William E. Simon Fellow in Religion and a Free Society at the Heritage Foundation; Mark Steyn, political commentator; Diana Furchtgott-Roth, senior fellow, Hudson Institute and Director, the Center for Employment Policy; and many more.

The event will be videotaped and live streamed on the Internet. Further, we’re partnering with these grassroots organizations and activists at the state level to create an educational project to roll out nationally to every state in the union in a united effort to reclaim American liberties. The grassroots team will receive materials – such as booklets, monographs, Talking Points, CDs or DVDs – which will contain what was discussed at the symposium. These products will educate the citizenry as to the important issues that affect not only our Constitution, but our national and family security, and can be used at town hall meetings and for other expressions of their responsibilities as engaged citizens. We are riding the crest of Americans’ new-found passions for the preservation of our country, and we are supplying Americans with guidance from our country’s best thinkers to accomplish that.

It is the job of American citizens (not career politicians) to temper, modify and shape change – wherever it is deemed necessary – to conform to the principles of American exceptionalism, freedom and meritocracy. The dismantling of those institutions that sustain free enterprise and opportunity must be arrested, and we are setting out to make that happen.

Come join our grassroots team so that we can build an immense tsunami of support for the first principles of our country in an effort to Reclaim American Liberty. You can sign up by clicking here or by writing to us at info@familysecuritymatters.org, or if you would like to receive post-symposium materials for your own education and distribution in your community, send us an e-mail at this same address.
