Whenever you think general incompetence by those who purport to serve by the consent of the governed can’t get any worse, think again:
“Spying on Icebergs Instead of Terrorists? Obama Program Diverts Intelligence Assets to Climate Research” (Wall Street Journal, 12/30/09)
As terrorists continue to infiltrate America, the Obama Administration is tasking some of our nation's most elite intelligence-gathering agencies to divert their resources to environmental scientists researching global warming.
Experts with The National Center for Public Policy Research are decrying this practice as a distraction from important counterterrorism duties. They further question if it a possible avenue to renew climate change subterfuge already plaguing some of these scientists.
"This is another example of President Obama not taking terrorism seriously," said Deneen Borelli, a fellow with the National Center's Project 21 black leadership network. "Our enemies must be laughing at the Obama Administration's incompetence."

“Shock: Government ‘De-radicalization’ Expert on Terror Watch List” (Patrick Poole, Pajamas Media, 1/4/09)
Following the attempted bombing of Northwest Flight 253 on Christmas Day, the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) has come under fire for failing to connect the dots concerning bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab. But new information concerning the NCTC’s de-radicalization expert, Yasir Qadhi, raises questions about how far the rot of political correctness extends within the agency most responsible for connecting the dots.
Qadhi’s association with the NCTC came to light late last week in a report by CNN that Abdulmutallab had attended a 16-day conference in Houston sponsored by the AlMaghrib Institute, where Qadhi is a featured instructor. The report also noted that Abdulmutallab had attended two other AlMaghrib events in the UK.
Qadhi spoke to CNN on behalf of AlMaghrib, attempting to explain away the terrorist’s repeated attendance at his organization’s events. Towards the end of the CNN report came a disturbing revelation:
Qadhi, of New Haven, Connecticut, has been involved in de-radicalization efforts in the United States and was a leading participant in the U.S. Counter-Radicalization Strategy conference organized by the National Counterterrorism Center in the summer of 2008.

“Bankers Get $4 Trillion Gift From Barney Frank” (Bloomberg News, 12/30/09)
Tareq and Michaele Salahi weren't the only ones who got into the state dinner at the White House without an invitation. The Secret Service confirms there was a third party crasher. But the man accused of the security breach denies it was him.
A congressional source told The Washington Post that Carlos Allen, a party promoter in the nation's capital, was the uninvited guest. A statement from the Secret Service did not identify the crasher but said he got into the White House with the official Indian delegation to the Nov. 24 dinner honoring that country's prime minister.
"I did not attend the state dinner," Allen declared three times in remarks to Politico.

However, there have been rumors circulating online for weeks that Allen did indeed "pull a Salahi" at the White House. Sanam Toossi, a contributor to the blog Ask Miss A, said she met Allen at a Nov. 25 charity event and reported he "had attended the state dinner the night before." Allen posted pictures on his Facebook page of himself at the dinner, the blog said, but took them down when the Salahi scandal erupted.
They can’t even seem to keep uninvited guests out of the White House. And we expect them to keep uninvited jihadists out of the country?
