Sheriff Arpaio took an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution and protect Americal people. He is enforcing our laws against illegal immigration. Eric Holder took a similar oath. He arranges pardons for rich Liberals who have committed crimes, and gives war criminals and murderers unwarranted access to the American justice system (or what's left of it). His old law firm gave pro bono representation to people who killed Americans. I wonder how they stack up morally?

There really is nothing further to say, except that the open borders Obama Administration is, well, carrying out their open borders agenda. Can anyone think of another reason why they are trying to prosecute a United States Sheriff in Arizona, who is protecting the U.S. citizenry from the utter criminality and chaos that comes across that border from Mexico. My God, the democrats are acting as if the Sheriff is the problem, not Narco-State Mexico that he and his men are protecting Americans from. Think about this for a second folks, before forming any snap judgements. The investigation into Arpaio's actions has absolutely nothing to do with immigration & everything to do with his incessant abuses of the authority that we, the people of Maricopa County, have entrusted to Arpaio & his corrupt staff.
Arpaio & his staff have been using the County budget to take fishing trips to Honduras, Alaska & China.
They have been feeding the inmates of the Maricopa County Jails miniscule portions of substandard food & then allowing them to purchase food from "concession stands" that Arpaio's family runs & then using that money to pay cash for Valley real estate.
Arpaio & his staff claim to be so tough on illegals, but if you take a close look at the numbers on the MCSO website you see that real arrest numbers are coming from the other Police agencies in Maricopa County. IT'S ON THEIR OWN WEBSITE FOR CRYIN OUT LOUD!!!
Most of what the general public knows about Arpaio comes from his reelection PR/Propaganda Machine, not from the media at large.
In the last 2 years it has been as if the Arpaio/Thomas Team has begun to believe their own propaganda & feel that they actually can do anything they please & arrest anybody that opposes them in budget negotiations or elections.
While Arpaio has been taking action against political opponents almost since his first day in office, it is only just now that anybody has made an effort to rein him in, & as he charges with a crime, arrests, or files RICO Suits against anyone from the County or State Government that opposes him, only the FEDS can take the appropriate action.
We the INFORMED voters of Maricopa County applaud the long needed investigation by the US Attorneys Office.
Arpaio has turned the MCSO & the Sheriff's Posse Volunteers into a private army & has begun to run it like a Petty Warlord. It's time for Maricopa County to reenter the US & stop being run like a Third World Country.

Most of the Team Arpaio PR has only a shade of reality & a ton of embellishment. Arpaio's Department is much more into advertising itself at the expense of enforcing the law & gullible people all over the country fall for the narcotic BS that they spew because most people just want to feel safe.
Arpaio is nothing but an ineffective illusion & his supporters are participating in their own manipulation.
As the current lawsuit depositions play out more of the inside workings of the MCSO will be shown the light of day. Even when this occurs, the true believers will still be repeating the the propaganda that Arpaio's reelection staff pumps out.
It's actually rather pathetic.
If the US Attorney's office does return an indictment, Arpaio's supporters will really start to shout about how it's all the fault of the evil Mexicans & ignore the true issues of how a corrupt politician has damaged one of the largest law enforcement agencies in the country.

I think Arpaio should train someone to run the facility, and he should go on tour,teaching LEO's across the US on doing the same .
Also,regarding "Illegal Immigration",why not offer every soldier coming home from battle an option to volunteer for 2 weeks of Border Patrol? I'll bet there'd be a lot of takers,and that would be as volunteers!

Prior to Patrick Haab's 2005 Citizens Arrest of 7 Illegal's at a rest stop in Southern Maricopa County & Andrew Thomas's nation wide headlines for refusing to prosecute him, Arpaio publicly stated "his Deputies" would not arrest people for immigration violations.
Thomas' notoriety made him realize he was missing out on a new way to get his mug in the news even more than he already was.
Janet Napolitano may be an ineffective politician, but Arpaio is on record as having endorsed her in both of her runs for Arizona Governor.
Arpaio's supporters will blindly repeat the propaganda they have been spoon fed without ever making even a small effort to check it out. The MSCO website has all the evidence necessary to see that their claims are BS & their activities are mostly ineffective. The MCSO has been so ineffective in enforcing Illegal Immigration that the burden has been immense on the other local Police Agencies in Maricopa County to pick up the slack. Luckily for the Residents of Arizona we have true heroes & professionals heading those departments rather than attention starved politicians like Arpaio & Thomas.
Intelligent American Citizens all over the country are finally waking up to the fact that they have been duped for nearly 20 years by a greedy little con man.
Only the sycophants are sill spouting the propaganda that was spoon-fed them.

arizona resident: since i'm here now, i'll give you the answer from wildbill's post. it's the 10th amendment, which of course deals with states rights to be free from federal intrusion. another arizona sheriff, richard mack and montana sheriff jay printz won a landmark ruling from the u.s. supreme court that clearly upheld the sovereign power of individual states and the authority of locally-elected politicians like a sheriff. you should really acquaint yourself with the powers of a local sheriff. sheriffs runs the show in their territory, even if you're from the federal government and do something unlawful, the local sheriff can arrest you, and that even includes fbi agents or the president if necessary. not many people on earth are as powerful as a local sheriff, just a throwback to the brilliance & wisdom of the founding fathers, who knew that days of tyranny would be upon the u.s. someday in the future, as they're upon us now.

my issue this time is not with the sheriff but with a couple of his detention officers, one of their names being sgt. "ADAMS".. I am not a criminal, I am a family man and have a job well had a job, and three very children and i was recentky locked up, or picked up on a warrant i didnt know i had and I was take into custody and booked in 4th ave jail in thr phyche ward "they labeled me crazy because I have A.D.D., so i was sent to what they call a "safe cell" which happens to not be very safe at all, at least from the D.O.s because TWO of them broke two of my fingers and busted up my jaw then had the nurse tell me that there was nothing wrong with me and I was fine but luckily I was bonded out 7 hours later and went to an emergency room.. anyways, theres alot to it but to make a long story short, I was wondering if anyone has any advice on how to press charges/or seek justice against the county?? are ther pro bono lawyers who will fight the lying, and corrupt jail system so the "NEXT" person isnt killed!!!!! any advice please respond to my email jonmerrill1231@aol.com.. thank you god bless
