After a lengthy hiatus, we are back with CRC Open-Source Intelligence Briefs. The plan is to bring them to you twice a month (or every other week), exclusively here at FSM.

AFGHANISTAN: Reuters is reporting, “Germany's Bundestag lower house of parliament on Friday voted to increase its troop count in Afghanistan by up to 850, raising its mandate for the country to a total of 5,350 soldiers. Chancellor Angela Merkel's government plans to send 500 additional troops and allow for a flexible contingent of up to 350 more with the aim of stepping up training of Afghan security forces and protection of civilians.”

This is heartening news as we need Europe to step up its participation in the global war on terror. Now if they can also step up against creeping Shariah in their own countries as that too poses asymmetrical threats on numbers of fronts we cannot yet begin to calculate.

NORTH AMERICA:
Building on our SALUTE Report, we invite you to watch an eight-minute video, “exploring suspicious activities that may indicate terrorist planning.” The video – "Recognizing 8 Signs of Terrorism” – was released in October 2009.

The eight signs include:

  • Surveillance
  • Elicitation (or trying to get information out of people close to a target)
  • Tests of Security
  • Funding
  • Acquiring Supplies
  • Impersonation (e.g. government personnel like mail carriers or company employees)
  • Rehearsal
  • Deployment
Also, Christopher Holton, a vice president with the Center for Security Policy (CSP) and the director of the CSP’s Divest Terror Initiative, posts the following disturbing bit of Islamic encroachment news, “PricewaterhouseCoopers Appoints Shariah Finance Director” in the UK.

We also have this from Steven Emerson at The Investigative Project on Terrorism: “The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) chapter in Washington State is seeking religious Muslim volunteers to work with state prison inmates. That has veteran corrections official Patrick Dunleavy concerned that the program could result in the radicalization of prisoners and create security problems.”

Full story here.

In Najibullah Zazi terrorism case: Dots connected, lives saved: “The capture of Najibullah Zazi, the disruption of his plot and his guilty plea this week show that when U.S. intelligence and law enforcement agencies work together they are capable of thwarting a serious terrorist attack.”

And Erick Stakelbeck at CBN has the latest on the investigation of five Muslim soldiers who allegedly threatened to poison food at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.

More here.

Why wasn't the Fort Jackson poisoning case reported more widely? Is this administration trying to cover up something?

I've seen that video and it's excellent - glad it's being reprised here.

I enjoyed reading the quick highlights in this piece. Especially interesting the Fort Jackson case that still seems to have one person that has not been cleared. Why haven't I seen this reported in the main stream media?

"Why haven't I seen this reported in the mainstream media."
