This article has many flaws. Below are just a few.

In actual fact his schools are called Math and Science academies and cannot teach religion due to the fact that they receive public money. They are not madrassahs.

All of our Turkish friends in the Gulen Movement here in Chicago are married with children and in their early to mid- 30s.

There are no articles, statements or warnings concerning Fetullah Gulen or his movement on the Homeland Security website. So I am curious as to how the author of this article obtained that information.

While it is true that the AKP is in power in Turkey, they are not under Gulen's control. The two groups have a relationship, but I am not aware of Gulen's rule over the AKP.

This hardly seems plausible for someone who has as one of his goals interfaith dialogue. None of the Gulen people that I know have ever expressed any of this type of hatred. On many occassions they have actually gone out of their way to appear tolerant. One friend even confided in me that in Turkey people have accused the Gulen movement of being a puppet for Christian missionaries due to his emphasis on interfaith dialogue.

Even though this piece has many flaws, it gives people the proper idea about Gulenist movement. But of course the roots of this movement-as well as al-Qaeda lies with America's flawed and illdesigned Cold War strategies. I recommend the people who are interested in this subject to read "NATO's secret armies" from Dr. Daniele Ganser. Dr. Ganser, even though he has not given a name, clearly states that; "(in Turkey) the first Gladio-affiliated civil organization was the Counter-Communism Associations". Fetullah Gülen was one of the founding members of these organizations. Naturally, the worst enemies of Communism -especially in a country like Turkey which has a long history of wars and enmity against Russia- are ultra-nationalists and islamists. And as the strongest country in the world, USA must start to propagate against all Religions, take Religion out of social life first and go through a proper Secularization process like Turkey and France, and then maybe there is a chance for world peace.

I checked out the video link to Fetullah Gulen that you posted. Unfortunately, it is of such poor quality that you can prove anything with it. How am I to know if the words that you claim he said are the ones that he really said, since you cannot make out his lip movements due to the poor quality of the video. Finally, to this point you have not answered even one of the facts given in my original post and neither has anyone else on this blog. Here are the six arguments that I put forward in brief (see my first post for details):
1. Gulen schools are Math and Science academies, not madrassahs.
2. The translation of hocaefendi given in this article is incorrect.
3. Most people in the Gulen movement are young marrieds (late 20s-early 30s) with children, not in their 50s as this article supposes.
4. Nowhere on the homeland security website does it say anything about wanting to deport or expel Gulen from the U.S.
5. Gulen is not the head of the AKP, although they have a relationship.
6. The Gulen movement does not express the Hamas-like anti-Semitism that the article alleges. This would not be possible for someone who is consistently hosting interfaith dialogues.
These are the facts, please address them! I am putting this challenge to all of you who have posted against what I have written. If you have facts counter to the ones that I have just listed, put them forward. Otherwise, there is no reason for us to have this exchange if we can fly off into unfounded rhetoric and wild accusations. I will post again when someone actually answers the facts that I have put forward, until that time there is no need for me to do so. The facts speak for themselves!

It's on pages 428 and 429, It explains how these Associations were the roots of Ülkücü (paramilitary-MHP organization) Camps. It does not say it so in the book but Gulen is one of the Founding members of these organizations in Erzurum-probably the most-Anti-Communist city in Turkey.
I don't believe anyone is saying that MHP and AKP are the same parties but they are coming from the same Lowest Common Denominator-violent Anti-Communism.
My comments on your 6 points;
1-Gulen Schools; teach math and science in order for his disciples to be a part of the system. It's just a part of their cover. As you probably know a huge chunk of Al-Qaeda operatives are Doctors, Teachers, Bankers or Engineers they are not some lowlifes who have no reason to live.
2- Hocaefendi is translated wrong you're right
3- True
4- Of course it doesn't, Fethullah Gülen is not a threat to American security, he is a threat to Turkish security.

6- Gulen Movement does not openly advocate anti-semitism but I haven't seen or met or heard about one Gulenist who is not anti-Semitist. In order to ease their conscience they say something like this: Not all the Jews are Bad, the Bad ones are Zionists, the anti-Zionist Jews are our brothers".

Regarding my fourth point, I was simply addressing the false statement in the article that Gulen was wanted by homeland security in the U.S., not what his influence in Turkey is currently.
I found your comments about anti-semitism interesting. I am writing from the perspective of someone who interacts with the Gulen movement in the U.S. I have never heard them make such statements here about Jews. It sounds like things are different where you are at, is this true?
