Court grants asylum to Obama's illegal alien aunt

by JIM KOURI, CPP May 19, 2010
An immigration court judge granted asylum to President Barack Obama's aunt, allowing her to remain in the United States in spite of breaking the U.S. immigration laws.

Fifty-seven year old Zeituni Onyango, President Barack Obama's aunt on his Kenyan father's side, pleaded for political asylum before the court in a case that is being all but ignored by the mainstream news media in the U.S.

Earlier this year, Onyango had appeared in a Boston federal immigration court for a hearing regarding her plea for asylum in the U.S.  She's been living in violation of the law after ignoring an order for deportation issued in 2004.

Onyanga's defense attorney, Margaret Wong, has argued that the President's aunt should not be deported due to serious medical issues. However, Wong has also stated a backup argument will be the threat of  violence that exists in Kenya due to warring tribes.

The proceeding was held before Judge Leonard Shapiro behind closed-doors. Wong threatened that Onyango would appeal if ordered deported. The U.S. government also has the right of appeal, but some observers believe such an appeal by prosecutors is very unlikely.

Although living illegally in the U.S. for years, with the knowledge of the entire Obama family,  Onyango was discovered by investigative bloggers in 2008. Not surprising to media critics, the mainstream news organizations ignored the story or relegated it to newspapers' back-pages as unsubstantiated allegations until after the election, according to political strategist Mike Baker.

Some political opponents of the President believe that this illegal alien aunt is the reason for Obama's wish to give amnesty to millions of foreign nationals illegally living and working in the United States.

"My contacts in Washington tell me that there is a strong possibility that after the November election cycle, there will be a renewed attempt to finally give illegal aliens full amnesty," said Baker.

"It's not absurd to believe the President would use his power to save his father's sister," he said.

Obama's aunt isn't the first to have a run-in with the law. Last year, the President's half-brother was denied a visa to enter Britain following an accusation that he attempted to sexually assault  a young British girl.

The British newspaper The Sun reports that Samson Obama, a Kenyan national, tried to enter Britain while he was on his way to Washington, DC for his brother's Presidential Inauguration on January 20.

However, according to The Sun reporter Gloria Di Piero, immigration agents at East Midlands Airport, using the latest biometric tests, discovered he was linked to an incident in the United Kingdom that occurred in November, 2008.

Information on the database revealed that Samson -- who manages a mobile phone shop just outside Nairobi, Kenya -- was in fact the man who was arrested by police officers in Berkshire after he allegedly approached a group of young girls, including a 13 year-old, and allegedly tried to sexually assault one of them.
According to The Sun report, the children took refuge inside a cafe, but Obama followed them and became aggressive towards them at which point the cafe owner asked Obama to leave and called the police.

When police officers arrived, Samson Obama was still in the vicinity and, after questioning him, he was placed under arrest by the officers. In addition, Samson was using bogus identification. He was released and left the country with no subsequent action by British officials.

Cory Booker tweets #IStandWithObama; Hashtag hijackers flood the zone

May 21, 2012  11:39 PM

Newark, N.J., Mayor Cory Booker, the Democrat who defended Bain from the Obama campaign's attacks yesterday morning, has been backpedaling more furiously than a clown on a high wire. Tonight, in an effort to mollify his critics on the Left, he posted four tweets that included the hashtag #IStandWithObama. Conservatives immediately took over the #IStandWithObama hashtag to mock President Obama, and within an hour it became a trending topic.

Cory Booker tries to clear up his position on Bain attacks

May 21, 2012  10:25 PM

Cory Booker continued his quest to run screaming away from the apparently too candid comments he made on Meet the Press on Sunday. Despite attempts earlier today to #FreeCoryBooker from those trying to force him to apologize Booker went on the Rachel Maddow show to do everything he could to walk back what he said. Que the mockery.

Obama takes anti-Romney rant to Twitter

May 21, 2012  09:49 PM

It started off this morning with a video of a woman named Valerie from Indiana posted by Barack Obama’s official Twitter account. 12 hours, 12 tweets and a failed hashtag later, Obama’s reelection team took the day to tweet ongoing misinformation about Mitt Romney’s record in the private sector, specifically Bain Capital’s work with the [...]
