Poll: Obama's lead plunges in Mass. - SEE HERE. The Air Apparent
IBD Editorials.com
As he flip-flops on drilling, Barack Obama contends we can save as much oil by inflating our tires as may be found offshore. What's phase two of his energy plan? Borrowing Jimmy Carter's sweater?
If Obama ran a gas station, it would probably have no gas pumps, just air hoses. Speaking in Missouri last week, the one we have been waiting for said: "There are things you can do individually, though, to save energy. Making sure your tires are properly inflated — simple things. But we could save all the oil that they're talking about getting off drilling — if everybody was just inflating their tires. And getting regular tuneups. You'd actually save just as much!"
The Saudis must be laughing their heads off. Can we expect Jimmy Carter to be Obama's secretary of energy? Keeping your tires properly inflated can improve your gas mileage by about 3%. Most new cars don't need tuneups for the first 100,000 miles. And even all the hot air from Obama's speeches would not make a dent in the 20 million barrels of crude we consume daily.

Barack Obama has a horrid record for picking mentors.
First there was father-figure and mentor G-damn AmeriKKKA Jeremiah Wright who the media tried to ignore. We all know how well that ended.
Now, comes word of his communist mentor in Hawaii. The media doesn't want to touch this one, either.
Barack Obama mentor Frank Marshall Davis was investigated for his links with the Communist Party in the United States.
The Post-Chronicle reported:
"In a strange development, supporters of Barack Obama's childhood mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, are openly debating the nature and depth of Davis's commitment to the Communist Party and his relationship with the Democratic candidate. The debate has gotten heated."
This unusual debate, which is taking place on Obama's official website, raises the question once again as to why Obama has not been asked by the major media about this relationship. Davis was identified as a Communist Party member by various investigative committees and acknowledged his party membership.

Barack Obama's pattern of legislative behavior should concern all Americans. He has tried to have his cake and eat it, too. He may broadly "support" a wide variety of politically popular causes (the right to bear arms, nuclear power, and now offshore oil drilling) but engage in legislative sleight of hand to foreclose the chances of these goals ever being achieved. This is merely the legislative version of the double-dealing that Barack Obama has displayed over the years.
On the campaign trail, he can talk a good game about post-racial politics, but for twenty years he was an acolyte of a man who preached the absolute opposite. He can claim he supports bipartisanship but has the most liberal record in the Senate. He can pander in front of one audience and then change his position the very next day ("Undivided Jerusalem"). Outside the halls of Congress, he can support this or that proposal, but then try to kill it through smoke and mirrors within the halls of Congress.
For a man who promotes transparency, he sure has a funny way of showing it. His political principle, such as it is, may be "Do As I Say, Not as I Do". It may not sound as pleasant as "Change you can believe in," but it has a track record you can believe in.

In an election cycle where Republicans are reviled and the GOP candidate, John McCain, seems to inspire less excitement than a Droopy marathon on the Cartoon Network, it's hard for some people to understand how the race is still close. After all, Barack Obama is drawing record crowds and generating the sort of wild-eyed loyalty from the press that hasn't been seen since Guyana, right before they broke out the Kool-Aid -- and yet, on paper, this race is a coin flip.
Why is that? Because this race is turning into a referendum on Barack Obama and quite frankly, he has absolutely nothing going for him besides the fact that he's young, good looking, black, and does a great job of reading the speeches his handlers have prepared for him. Once you get beyond those paper-thin qualifications for office, Obama is nothing but a mass of flaws, bad character traits, and left-wing agitprop. While the press lauds Obama as if he just cured cancer and invented a car that runs on lawn clippings in the same day, everyone else can't help but notice.

If soccer moms determined the outcome of the 1996 presidential race and security moms tipped the balance in 2004, it is beginning to look as if older moms are the key to the 2008 contest.
Obama has a problem among women over 40 and a big problem among women over 50. These groups, normally the staunchest of Democratic supporters, are showing a propensity to back McCain.
According to the latest Fox News survey, Obama is winning among women under 40 by 13 points, but McCain is winning among women aged 41-45 by four points. Among women 50 and over, McCain is three points ahead. Obama’s 48-35 lead among women under 40 is normal for a Democrat, but to trail among women in their 40s by 45-41 and by women over 50 by 38-35 is extraordinary.
The problem is that older women don’t like Obama as much as younger women do.

The majority of Americans don’t want the United States to loose in Iraq; don’t want socialized medicine; know that Islamic terrorists are a mortal danger to America and efforts to stop them shouldn’t be hampered; don’t trust government to solve problems; don’t want higher taxes; don’t want the totally corrupt United Nations in charge of anything; don’t want dangerous criminals released from prison; object to anti-religious government measures; don’t want porous borders; don’t want drilling for domestic oil to be hampered; and don’t want more government regulations interfering in their lives.
Contrary to the beliefs of the majority of Americans, that’s exactly what the Liberal Democrats, the elites, and their media minions want.
It has been estimated that the influence of the Liberal Media results in a 5-15% advantage for the Democrats, and the media will work to that end! With a politically close divided country in a national race, that means that NO REPUBLICAN CAN WIN A NATIONAL ELECTION, though Republicans represent the majority of America’s views! The media want Republicans to lose!

Centrist Barack Obama? Well, I suppose that phrase of ideological incoherence is no more fabulous than anything else we hear pertaining to the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee. His current masquerade as a moderate might well be the only “audacity” his campaign contains. Few candidates are so burdened by a history showcasing radical affiliations and associations. Indeed, the would-be savior’s established voting record reveals him to be anything but a conservative, and one media outlet even rated him the most leftward-leaning member of the senate.
From a rational perspective, there was never anything promising or unique about Obama. Certainly he possesses some gifts such as an engaging voice, a strong physical presence, and a polite demeanor, but none of these attributes is even remotely relevant post-inauguration. A president should be selected on criteria involving policy stances, attitude towards the nation, and the probability that he or she will preserve and defend our Constitution. Obama is gravely deficient in all of these areas.
The would-be messiah is but an illusion.
Obviously, a Democrat abandoning many of his more progressive (read: regressive) stances in the months preceding an election is not usual, but one would hope that Obama’s past derails his ability to cast himself as a non-partisan figure. Peter Kirsanow correctly observed that “even with his recent attempts at moderation he retains positions on several significant issues indistinguishable from those of Dennis Kucinich. Most of those positions are opposed not only by overwhelming majorities of all Americans, but in several cases, majorities of Democrats as well.”

We have all seen the old movies where a traveling peddler hypnotizes and hoodwinks half a town into buying snake oil or a magic tonic which restores beauty, health, peace of mind and cleans pots as well. We have also seen those horror movies where legions of victims decide that hitchhiking on a lonely stretch of road or running toward that eerie mansion is a good idea. Most likely, we sat there grinning, munching on our popcorn and wondering who thought portraying such utter mass stupidity and naïveté was a realistic effort. Judging from this election season, we should wipe that grin off our faces.
I will spare the reader the long lists of problems with Barack Obama’s qualification to be POTUS. Simply put, Obama lacks the experience, background and resume to even be considered for such an office, much less be elected to it. If that were not enough, his associations with radicals, racists and corrupt individuals would normally be enough to sink any chance for the brass ring in a heartbeat.
Given the above, one has to wonder how and why anyone within a time zone of sanity would seriously consider voting for this man. After watching the media and the Left ( is there a need to distinguish these two?) cast a spell on the collective flock of fawning fools drooling in awe of the Illinois Flash, we must come to the conclusion that Barack Obama is simply the Messiah of the Misinformed and Mesmerized.

Nothing is as fierce as guerrilla warfare, where anything goes. Video warfare, with its manipulated images and half-truths posing as facts, is fiercest of all. The Geneva Convention does not apply.
The McCain campaign posted a video on YouTube.com over the weekend mildly mocking Barack Obama as a self-proclaimed messiah, as messiahs imitating the original necessarily are.
"Can you see the light?" asks the stentorian voice-over. "It shall be known that in 2008 the world will be blessed. They will call him 'the One' . Barack Obama may be 'the One,' but is he ready to lead?" Or, the anonymous voice might have asked, "the One what?"
The Obama camp yelped, as if in pain, and cried foul. A spokesman dismissed the YouTube video as "juvenile," and promised, "childish" attack or not, that the "messiah" will continue "talking about his plan to jump-start our economy by giving working families $1,000 of emergency relief."
The messiah video followed by several days a video mocking Mr. Obama as a mere celebrity, full of sound bite and flurry signifying not very much, illustrated with fleeting images of Britney Spears and Paris Hilton, two of the most famous airheads in Hollywood, where airheads were invented. Even Miss Hilton's mom chimed in, with the reassurance that her daughter isn't as dumb as everyone thinks she is.

If I were a gambling man – and believe me when I tell you that I would place a bet on the outcome of a tiddlywinks match – I would put McCain’s odds of winning the presidency at 5-1. My good friend Rich Baehr at American Thinker gives McCain a one in three chance of pulling it out but that may be a tad optimistic.
It would make for a nice little wedge issue for McCain if he could tie his efforts in with some popular ballot initiative like the anti-discrimination laws. Given the majorities they have passed in other states, identifying his campaign with scrapping quotas and other preferential criteria might tip the balance in his favor on election day.
The other issue that is in play in which McCain has a huge advantage is the oil drilling issue which translates directly into voter anger over gas prices. My personal belief is that the blame for our current situation has many fathers on the Hill and in the White House from both parties. We were given the gift of 35 years to solve our energy dependence problem and fumbled the ball miserably. Both parties muffed the chance and here we are, 35 years after the Arab oil embargo exposed our vulnerability to foreigners with regards to our energy supply still promising to do something about it.
In the intervening years, our foreign policy has been held hostage by these desert potentates . And we’ve accepted it because it meant that gas would stay cheap. Well, now we have our foreign policy still being held hostage and gas is $4 a gallon, nearly doubling in the last year.

He has not kept it a secret that, in the name of bringing about peace, that it is Socialism in Obama's hands which has crept up and is very close to overtaking this Republic called America should he be elected as President. Are Americans ready to live without personal freedoms heretofore guaranteed by the constitution?

Iran has carried out missile tests for what could be a plan for a nuclear strike on the United States, the head of a national security panel has warned.
In testimony before the House Armed Services Committee and in remarks to a private conference on missile defense over the weekend hosted by the Claremont Institute, Dr. William Graham warned that the U.S. intelligence community “doesn’t have a story” to explain the recent Iranian tests.
“An EMP attack on America would send us back to the horse and buggy era — without the horse and buggy,” he told the Claremont Institute conference on Saturday. “If you’re a terrorist, this is your ultimate goal, your ultimate asymmetric weapon.”
Arizona Republican Sen. Jon Kyl, a long-standing champion of missile defense, told the Claremont conference on Friday that Sen. Obama has opposed missile defense tooth and nail and as president would cut funding for these programs dramatically.
“Senator Obama has been quoted as saying, ‘I don’t agree with a missile defense system,’ and that we can cut $10 billion of the research out — never mind, as I say, that the entire budget is $9.6 billion, or $9.3 billion,” Kyl said.
