The Destructive Nature of Envy and Why Arabs Hate Jews

As mental health professionals and as political analysts, it is our opinion, that the on-going Arab-Israeli Conflict is powered by Envy as the root cause. Just as Chaucer said thatmoney is the root of all evil, we say in turn that envy is the root of all evil. The Palestinians held the land for a thousand years and did nothing all those years to enhance or fertilize it, keeping it as a total wasteland. The Jews came back to their homeland and in decades transformed it to a rich green fertile land of Milk and Honey.

Politicians, historians, let alone the media, have grossly overlooked or shown myopia to the destructive nature of envy. Of course we don't expect these experts and governmental officials and people in Homeland Security to understand a fundamental principle, which governs all human forces as do psychoanalysts and those in the mental health profession. We feel, though, that it is our moral responsibility and the time is right to present the primitive nature of envy as fundamental to the political state as the centerpiece and major deterrent to peace.

More and more people are beginning to understand how peace negotiations, empathy, offers of land for peace are falsely embraced and then immediately repudiated. Several times the Israelis reached out to the Palestinians and each time the effort was rebuffed or repudiated. Yasser Arafat accepted Rabin's offer with much gratitude and smiles, only later to reveal his smile was really a smirk like the cat who swallowed the canary. Lttle did we know in the next breath he would bring explosives and weapons to wage an even fiercer war against the Jews, let alone to assuage his military cohorts martyrs who feared his betrayal to their cause -- the destruction of Israel.

Throughout history the Jews have been the most successful group of people in science, music, literature, entertainment and winners of Nobel prizes. We take a pause and question why? Jews throughout history have not only been encouraged to question G-d to not live by dogma, but to study Talmud. In doing so they have been for generations questioning, analyzing, and examining. Freud's nanny would read him Bible stories every night and in the story of Joseph, Joseph is asked to analyze three dreams. Is it any wonder that Freud would develop an entire psychology based on what might have been for having read these stories (dream interpretation, the understanding of dysfunctional families, the unconscious, sibling rivalry, oedipal rivals etc.)?

But why envy? The answer is simple. More than any group, the Jews have been awarded the Nobel Prize for worldwide recognition in such fields as chemistry, engineering, science, literature, medicine, entertainment, physics, economics, and peace winners. In spite of being one of the smallest populations represented in the world population (only 2 percent), the Jews excel. Another reason may be historical but Biblically-based Jews have not only adhered to the myth of being "G-d's Chosen People," they have made it a reality. Yet we hasten to add that being chosen means observing the 613 mitzvot of the Bible – it doesn’t mean that Jews are “special,” which of course is part of the reason why many envy. Success has not come easy for them, yet they have persevered through persecution, the Holocaust and hard labor.

Much fun is made of the Jewish mother syndrome and her effort to enforce her "son's chosenness” through education, thinking, inventing, and there is some truth here. Freud once quipped in a joke about a Jewish mother running frantically along the beach screaming, "Help! Help! My son the doctor is drowning!” In many earlier contributions, this second author has written about how Jews because of the envy they evoke in others with this admiration comes sadistic attacks against them - hence the Holocaust.

Envy differs from jealousy and is considered to be the most primitive fundamental emotion. It is destructive in nature and is based on hatred and evil and its intent is to destroy that which is enviable. Jealousy, unlike envy, is based on love wherein one desires to be part of the family, the clan, the group or the nation. It is a higher form of development and does not seek to destroy.

In conclusion, as political analysts and therapists, it would be nice to offer a cure, suggestions, how to overcome this brutal and toxic syndrome, but that would be rather grandiose on our part. Our purpose is mainly to draw attention to an area that has not been given much attention by the media or those who study and unravel the mystery of terrorism and suicide bombings. Why else would an entire nation devote/dedicated themselves to destroying a tiny majority of people whom they regard with hatred and evil? For the time being, until a further explanation comes along, the answer is ENVY!

I think these two psycho-ananlysts have missed the point. While there may be some envy in the envy and hatred the Palestinians, the main cause is that the religion of the Muslims dictates a hatred for the Jews. Muslim tv-shows for children teach lies and hatred for Jews, and a love for death. The Qur'an dictates death to the Jews, and their annihilation is tied up in Muslim end-time theology. Hence, you have the rantings of Ahmadenijad. Envy from Muslims is not based primarily on materialism, but on the religion of Islam, which is the complete antithesis to the historical Biblical revelation. If these two PhDs would seriouly examine their Bibles, they would see that its prophecies are being fulfilled exactly in God's timing.

How true! And it can be taken a step backward, if you will, to a spiritual level concerning Satan (devil, Lucifer)who, envious of God's power, sought to usurp His throne and was cast down from his high position as the Covering Angel (protector of God's Glory). As a Christian, I see this envious nature of Arabs starting as far back as when God chose Abraham and his true son, Isaac--Jews, instead of his son by a handmaiden, Ishmael--Arabs. Ishmael mocked Isaac during a celebration when he was weaned (3 years old)...Ishmael was a teenager and envious and he and his mother were cast away. He went on to marry an Egyptian. And so the saga began. The envy of Satan and the envy of those who are against Jews are intrinsically linked...I think the reason is obvious. It was to destroy the Messianic line before Christ was born. After He conquered death, it has been to destroy all who name His Name. God's time piece is Israel/Jerusalem and the hatred/envy will continue until Yeshua-Jesus returns to put a stop to it!

Although I thoroughly agree with the analysis, the figure used in the piece that Jews represent 2% of the world's population is simply dead wrong. It should have read .002%. Otherwise, Jews would have captured every Nobel Prize ever awarded.

"The Palestinians held the land for a thousand years ...."

No they did not. ARAB refugees in Israel began identifying themselves as part of a Palestinian people in 1967, two decades AFTER the establishment of the modern State of Israel. The name "Palestinians" is not mentioned in UN General Assembly Resolution 242, adopted unanimously by the UN Security Council on November 22, 1967 in the aftermath of the Six-Day War. It is also not mentioned in Resolution 338, adopted on October 22, 1973 which called for a ceasefire in the Yom Kippur War. Reason being, until the Jordanian occupation of Judea, Samaria and part of Jerusalem ended in 1967, such a people never existed.
In the mean time, since the Jewish conquest in 1272 B.C.E. the Jews have had dominion over the land for one thousand years with a continuous presence in the land for the past 3,300 years.

Nice article but off point. Islamic hatred of the Jews is driven by Islamic doctrine. While they are busy hating and planning the Jews' deaths and destruction, it is true that they may harbor some envy for the Jews' ongoing creativity and success. But, the hatred itself pre-dates the theorized "envy".

Muhammad mandated Muslims to kill, convert, dhimmify and hate Jews. This is a mandate that has been in existence for 1400 years and this is what justifies jihad today.

There is no need to reinvent the wheel here. Muslims don't deny why they hate Jews. They hate Jews because Allah-- via Mohammad-- said they ought to. And, if Allah and Mohammad said to do something, then they are to do it.

I am disappointed in this piece as it fully neglects this crucial bit of information. Unfortunately, many people-- jihadists and non-jihadists alike-- may get a bit envious of others these days. Only Islam, however, orders its adherents to kill Jews and other non-Muslims until the entire world is under Islamic rule.

Both your facts regarding historical references as to who lived there, palestinians were nomadic, therefore no one can claim that land except Jews (Jews were captured and drawn from their homeland by one invader after another over their historical and biblical existence, second the propaganda piece, Mein Kampf by hitler, was translated and disseminated during WWII, to shore up resistance and aggression to wipe-out the whole Jewish population...they have ( the fake religion know as Islam), have use this as a tool to annihilate and destroy all Jews...they brain-wash their children from knee-high to HATE and regard the JEWS as liars, thieves, and murders, oh and COWS, and Christains are PIGS. The envy is also within the Jihad= my struggle(Mien Kampf = My struggle)......con't be politically correct , be honest and truthful...say what it is and call it what it TRULY is ......

Muhammad himself was jealous of all the Jews who lived around him, hence, he wrote all that personal jealousy directly into his pathetic little imitation of the Tanakh, the Qur'an.

Originally, God was described as "the Jealous God" by the ancient Hebrews, (over 34 times in the OT, but at least is came with helpful explanations like "God IS Jealousy, and SO He acts in these ways and does these things...!") but that was later amended by Moshe (Moses) who first coined that "God-IS-Love!" ideal (which was later enbraced by Isaiah, who said God only wants to reason with us, and really only hates jealous ritual imitations of real thinking! This was later exemplified and personified in Jewsus Christ.

The Ancient Hebrews went form mindlessly fearing and obeying God, to learning how to learn, by taking personal responsibility for their own actions (hence, that "Jews are all about guilt!" claim).

Then along came Muhammad, who was outraged that the Jews could have changed their minds from their interpretation of God's eternal nature, (and for which he called them "perverse and corrupt" right in his so-called 'holy' book!) and SO he regressed BACK to the Jealous God ideal, but deliberately LEFT OUT all the helpful explanatory bits, and in stead substituted "God IS... allah... AND he acts in these ways!" Thus, all the muslim mind-slaves of Muhammad are left with is expectations that they again only mindlessly OBEY the many given empty examples of how to behave, and they are all based only on the very WORST of the human emotions - on base jealousy!

Some examples:

An Ancient Hebrew stubs his or her toe on a rock, then smites the rock and later sacrifices a goat out of guilt.

Honest Jew stubs toe on rock, learns to watch where she's going LOL!

Christian stubs toe on rock, apologizes to rock. (Paulist stubs toe on rock, cuts off offending toe)!

Muslims stubs toe on rock - immediately sacrifices non-muslim ('infidel') to his jealous god ideal!
